South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — February 4, 2005 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />A. Public Hearings <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2119. <br />Mr. Hunt asked how long the property has <br />been vacant. <br />Mr. Laurent replied the property has been <br />vacant approximately two (2) years. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION No. 2119 <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the AMENDING THE SAMPLE -EWING DEVELOPMENT <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2119 AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN. <br />amending the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area Development Plan. <br />B. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) Commission approval requested for <br />Proposal for professional services in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(Demolition specifications and Asbestos <br />survey, Rink Riverside Building) <br />Mr. Mathia reported that a proposal was <br />received from Wightman Petrie, Inc. to <br />prepare demolition specifications for the <br />former Rink Riverside Printing building <br />located at 209 East Colfax. The amount of <br />the proposal is $5,500. Staff approached the <br />engineering staff of the City's Department of <br />Public Works to prepare the subject <br />specifications. The engineering staff was <br />concerned with the building's proximity to <br />the river, the site's topography and the <br />history of the building as first a laundry <br />facility and next a printing company. <br />Therefore, they recommended that a <br />consultant more experienced with these <br />c <br />
