South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting — February 4, 2005
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearings
(1) continued...
trustee and has also conducted limited
environmental testing on the property. The
trustee has stated that the property would be
sold to the Commission at a value of
approximately $5,000. The trustee has stated
that if the property is not purchased by the
City, or the Commission, the property would
be abandoned. This would place a vacant,
derelict, abandoned building adjacent to a
site that the Commission is marketing for
new development. Staff feels that due to the
limited resale potential of the property in its
present condition, its location, the building
configuration, the deteriorated condition (or
%00I lack) of utilities and direct proximity to the
Oliver Industrial Park, acquisition of the
property by the Redevelopment Commission
is appropriate and necessary to further the
development goals of the Sample -Ewing
Development Area.
Mr. King opened the Public Hearing on PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION No. 2119
Resolution No. 2119 and asked if there was AMENDING THE SAMPLE -EWING DEVELOPMENT
anyone from the public who wished to speak AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN.
in favor or against the resolution.
There being no one from the public wishing
to speak regarding Resolution No. 2119,
Mr. King closed the Public Hearing for
whatever action the Commission wished to
take.
G
