South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -July 20, 2007
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearings
continue ...
and new jobs in that area as well. I support
this resolution and ask your favorable action.
Marguerite Taylor: Representing the
Northeast Neighborhood Council. We want
to throw our support behind Resolution
No. 2351. Thank you.
Council Member Timothy Rouse: We
support this, as you made mention, but we
need to impress on this Commission that
after much dialogue and discussion, the
Council and the Administration agree that the
first order of business will be LaSalle Square.
We're excited about being able to do that, but
with emphasis on LaSalle Square.
GlendaRae Hernandez: 702 E. South Street.
Today I'm speaking on behalf of the
Community Forum for Economic
Development. The Community Forum for
Economic Development supports the
expansion of the Airport Economic
Development Area to include the LaSalle
Square and Marycrest/Hurwich Areas, and
the Sample-Ewing Redevelopment Area.
The Community Forum is an organization
that includes participants from throughout St.
Joseph County. What unites us is our desire
to increase living standards and opportunities
for area residents-in other words, to support
economic development in our communities.
Since its formation, the Community Forum
has advocated for including the LaSalle
8
