South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -July 20, 2007
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearings
continue ...
Avis Smith: I live right across the street
from the Faith Apostolic church. I want to
know what the impact is on my mother's
property. Her property is located right in the
area where they are talking about doing
redevelopment. My mother is 83 and doesn't
really understand what's going on. I'm here
on her behalf. I'm for redevelopment in that
area. I'm an entrepreneur, myself, so if I can
take advantage of whatever is being
redeveloped in that area, then I'm all for it,
too.
Mr. Inks responded to her question in
general. Our role in the LaSalle Square area
will be public improvements and
beautification. There is nothing but positive
news on the way for her mother.
Paula Johnson: LaSalle Park Neighborhood
Association. Even though we are on the
other side of the track from the LaSalle
Square area, we also support the resolution.
Mr. Inks noted that there was one letter of
support for Resolution No. 2351.
July 9, 2007
To Commission Members:
We urge you to vote yes on the Resolution
1Vo. 2348, on July 20, confirming that
11
