<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE GTY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO AMEN
<br />VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 6, ARTICLE 1, OF THE SOtl1'H BEND MUMCIPAL CODE ADDRESS
<br />ING PERMIT FEES AND THE DEFINITION OF PLUMBING CONTRACTOR
<br />STATEMENrOFPURPOSEANDINITENT
<br />On December 31,1991, the City of South Bend and the County of St Joseph entered ido an ag2eme
<br />fo merge their building depar}merrts; and further create the 'Consolidated Building BoarrY. In 1993, 1
<br />Ordinance No. 8412-93 subsection 1, the Board creased the Buildng Department as an ederydse fun
<br />h has been determined that in order to mairHain Ute erderpdse fund, a fee increase would be needed ;
<br />set forth in this a~narrce.
<br />Now, therefore, be h ordained by the Common Council of tM ny of South Bend, Indiana, as follow:
<br />Section 1. Chapter 6, Article 1, Section 6d(b)(1)(2)~8)(9) and (1 O) shall be amended fo read as folow
<br />(1) The fee for pemits issued for new consWrxion and building addtions shall be based upon the squat
<br />footage of such new constrrxxiion or addition at the rate of eight cerds ($0.08) per square foot for the fir
<br />one hundred thousand (100,000) square feet and six cents ($0.06) per square foot for each addition
<br />stNare foot, with a minimum permit fee of $20.00.
<br />(1) The fee for permits issued for new construction and building additions shall be based upon squa
<br />footage of such new construction or addition at the fogowing rates:
<br />a Residential: Ten cents ($0.10) per square footage far the first one huMred thousand (100,000) squat
<br />feet and eight cells ($0.08) per square foot far each additional square foot, with a mirimun fee of $20.OI
<br />b. CommercJaF. Twelve cells ($0,12) per square footage for the first one hundred thousand (100,001
<br />square footage and ten cents ($0.10) far each additional square foot, with a minimum fee of $20.00.
<br />(2) Pemits issued for all alterations, repairs, rerrrodeling of existing structures over five hundred ddlaf
<br />($500.00), and fence installation and in ground pod installation, shag be subject to the following fe
<br />schedule:
