Airport Economic Development Area <br />(4)Request from Code Enforcement for <br />Additional Funds For Construction ofAnimal <br />Shelter at 521 Eclipse Place <br />Dear Honorable Redevelopment Commission <br />Members: <br />In yesterday's front page article in the South Bend <br />Tribune, we read for the first time, that the "soft <br />costs, such as architect and engineering fees, <br />landscaping, the parking lot and furniture and <br />equipment "for the proposed animal shelter were <br />not included in the $1.5 million TIF dollar <br />appropriation, which you unanimously approved <br />for this project in February of 2010. <br />The undersigned members of the South Bend <br />Common Council respectfully request that the <br />Redevelopment Commission table today's requests <br />for an additional $300, 000 of TIF dollars for this <br />project. <br />We recognize that under Indiana state law, the <br />Redevelopment Commission is charged with <br />overseeing TIF dollars. However, in light of very <br />difficult economic challenges facing all of us, we <br />believe that all alternatives should be considered <br />before approving additional funds for the proposed <br />
