REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 29, 1981 <br />APPROVAL OF FUND SOLICITATION AT INTERSECTIONS - MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY <br />In concurrence with the Police Traffic Division, Mr. Ralph J. <br />Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recom- <br />mended approval of the fund solicitation request of the Muscular <br />Dystrophy Association and the National Association of Letter <br />Carriers to solicit funds on Sunday, July 12, 1981, from noon to <br />4:00 p.m., at the following intersections: <br />Miami and Lincolnway East <br />Eddy and Jefferson <br />Scottsdale Mall entrance <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request was approved subject to compliance with the <br />guidelines previously established by the Board on August 15, 1977. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following traffic control device was approved: <br />INSTALL 15 MINUTE PARKING ZONE - 913 -9132 Lincolnway West <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR VEHICLES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, was requesting permission to <br />advertise and receive bids for three one- half.ton pick -up trucks, <br />and Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, <br />desired to advertise and receive bids for five trucks for his <br />department. Mr. Kernan stated that the method of financing the <br />vehicles had been discussed at length with the Council. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />requests were approved. <br />APPROVAL OF TITLE SHEET AND PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS <br />FOR BENDIX DRIVE TRACK RELOCATION PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that approval was needed for the title <br />sheet for the Bendix Drive Track Relocation Project, which involved <br />the relocation of track, street improvements and signal controls <br />on Bendix Drive from Westmoor to Lincolnway West. He advised <br />that the railroad would be paying a part of the cost of the <br />project; the city would be paying a portion; and the developer <br />of the LaSalle Square Shopping Center would be paying for the. <br />installation of traffic signals at the location of the shopping <br />center. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the title sheet was approved and permission <br />was given to advertise for bids on the above project. <br />APPROVAL OF ERECTION OF TENT - ESLINGER FURNITURE &APPLIANCE CO. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the request of Eslinger Furniture and <br />Appliance Company, which had been filed with the Board on June 22, <br />1981, for the erection of a tent in its parking lot, July 7 through <br />August 10, 1981, had been recommended favorably by the Building <br />Department, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Fire Inspection <br />Bureau. It was noted that a certificate of fire retardancy for <br />the tent had been furnished. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved, subject <br />to requirements of the Building Department and the Fire Department <br />as to location of the tent and fire safety measures. <br />APPROVAL OF OPEN AIR STAND LICENSES (FIREWORKS <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the following applications for Open <br />Air Stand Licenses for the sale of fireworks through July 4, 1981, <br />had been received by the Board: <br />
