REGULAR 14EETING JUNE 8, 1981 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the following food booth applications were denied: <br />Karen Willis Bar -b -que ribs and chicken <br />Kim T. Martin Vietnam spring rolls & bar -b -que beef <br />John T. Dice Philippine -style food <br />Hodson's Homestyle Fudge Fudge and cold drinks <br />Faye Perkin Hot dogs, ice cream and pop <br />Mr. Keran explained that the second category was the craft booth and <br />the requirement for that particular booth was that the items made <br />and sold originated from a traditional craft. Also, duplication <br />of craft items was a consideration. He advised that it appeared <br />one of the applications for a craft booth needed further discussion <br />with the operator of same since there was some doubt as to the items <br />being craft - related. Upon a motion made by Mr.. Kernan, seconded by <br />Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following 16 craft booths were approved: <br />Ron Klein <br />Henrietta Yorkey <br />Henry L. James <br />Balloon Bowkey <br />Dolores Voss <br />Jeannie Troth <br />Mrs. Rad <br />Ron and Nancy Eversole <br />Tomm Alsman <br />Erna Johnson <br />Gerry McGee <br />Mrs. Jane Bill <br />Robert Hollis <br />John and Louise Nagy <br />Norma Jacobs <br />Hand - crafted Indian jewelry <br />Monograms <br />Velvet oil paintings <br />Helium balloons <br />Pine cone art <br />Ceramics <br />India crafts <br />Appalachian dulcimers & whittling <br />Engraved mirrors <br />Handcrafted sterling silver jewelry <br />and musical copper sculptures <br />Crystal jewelry and glassware <br />United Nations items <br />Hand - crafted Mexican tiles, plant <br />stands and Tiffany lamps <br />Wooden toys, shell arrangements <br />Floral arrangements <br />Approved subject to discussion with committee regarding one of the <br />proposed sale items and receipt of full fee: <br />Victor Morrison -Vega <br />Imports from Central and South <br />America and River Bend Plaza T- shirts <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the following craft booth applications were denied: <br />Tony Narsinghani Wood carvings, jewelry, etc. <br />Suzy's Computer Art Computer portraits transferred to <br />T- shirts, posters, etc. <br />Ms. Dobski advised that, in the past, various informational -type booths <br />were approved for the purpose of distributing literature. She explained <br />that, because of the uncertainty of space available and established <br />locations for the booths just approved, any of those display booths <br />applications would be held temporarily. She was hopeful the Board <br />would be able to take action on those applications at its next meeting. <br />NOTIFICATION OF PARKING RATE INCREASE - SOUTH BEND PARKING CO.. INC. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the South Bend Parking Company had sub- <br />mitted notification of adjusted parking rates at the following <br />locations: <br />123 North Main Street - $1.00 up to 12 hours <br />135 North Main Street $1.00 up to 12 hours <br />He stated that the Board has no authority to approve or deny the parking <br />rate increases and the South Bend Parking Company is only required to <br />officially notify the city of any changes in rates. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the notifica- <br />tion of rate increases was filed. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
