REGULAR MEETING
APPROVE APPLICATIONS FOR ETHNIC FESTIVAL BOOTHS
JUNE 8. 1981
Ms. Mikki Dobski, Coordinator for the Ethnic Festival, submitted
various applications for food and craft booths for participation
in the 1981 Ethnic Festival. She stated that she has received
considerable interest from groups submitting applications for
booths; however, at this time, the exact layout and locations
of the numerous stands had not been decided. She asked that all
approvals for booths be given subject to the availability of space.
Mr. Kernan stated that there were two categories of booths: the
first was the food booth and 37 applications were being submitted
for approval. He explained that the criteria used took into
account the ethnic affiliation, past participation of the booth
in previous festivals, whether or not the group was not - for - profit
or profit- making, and whether or not there was duplication of stands,
at which time, priority was given to the applications received first.
He stated that the food booths would be required to have sufficient
insurance coverage and all necessary health permits for their
operation. He advised that the required fee had not been paid for
one of the booths, and this would have to be done as soon as
possible. He also explained that there were some booths which had
duplication of food items and the operators would need to agree to
make menu changes and modifications. Upon a motion made by Mr.
Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following
