REGULAR MEETING MAY 4, 1981 APPROVE INDIANA BLACK EXPO PARADE Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- ing, recommended approval of the request of the Indiana Black Expo for a parade to be held on June 6, 1981, at 12:00 noon traveling west on Washington from the Hansel Center, north on Walnut, west on Linden, south on Olive, west on Orange to the Meade Street crossing, south on Bendix to Washington and west on Washington to LaSalle Park. It was noted that the marshalling areas for the parade formations would be on St. Paul's Court from Colfax to Washington and, if needed, on Elm Street from Colfax to Washington. Mr. Wadzinski further recommended that, on Olive Street, between Linden and Orange in the vicinity of the fire station, the parade be restricted to the east side of the street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the parade was approved. APPROVE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- ing recommended approval of the West Side Veteran's Memorial Day Parade to be held on May 25, 1981, with the parade route on Ford Street from Olive, then westerly to Lombardy, and north on Lombardy to the vicinity of Huron Street where the parade will disband, pro- ceeding then to the cemetery. Mr. Wadzinski recommended closing of Olive Street from Huron to Poland; Ford Street from Phillipa to Meade; and Grace Street from Olive to Meade. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the parade was approved. APPROVE REMOVAL OF "NO PARKING" - RASMUSSEN COURT Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- ing, recommended the removal of the "No Parking, Commercial Vehicle Loading Zone" on the east side of Rasmussen Court and the revision to two -hour parking, thereby providing additional on- street parking. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carreid, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS A request from the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was received for permission to have city environmental crews clean the following lots within the city: 126 E. Milton 2023 S. Kendall 1604 S. Prairie 1851 E. Calvert 1311 Sussex 1031 W. Dubail 755 South Bend Ave. 210 N. Brookfield 933 S. 35th 1118 W. Colfax 535 Pulaski 2502 Bertrand 713 Lindsey Lot N. of 309 S., Chestnut 226 E. Haney 1501 S. Catalpa 530 N. Johnson 1312 W. Indiana It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved. FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following Certificates of Insurance were filed: Schindler - Haughton Elevator Company. 671 Spencer Street Toledo, Ohio Slutsky -Peltz Plumbing and Heating 1216 West Washington South Bend, Indiana
