REGULAR MEETING MAY 4, 1981 <br />APPROVE INDIANA BLACK EXPO PARADE <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- <br />ing, recommended approval of the request of the Indiana Black Expo <br />for a parade to be held on June 6, 1981, at 12:00 noon traveling <br />west on Washington from the Hansel Center, north on Walnut, west <br />on Linden, south on Olive, west on Orange to the Meade Street <br />crossing, south on Bendix to Washington and west on Washington to <br />LaSalle Park. It was noted that the marshalling areas for the <br />parade formations would be on St. Paul's Court from Colfax to <br />Washington and, if needed, on Elm Street from Colfax to Washington. <br />Mr. Wadzinski further recommended that, on Olive Street, between <br />Linden and Orange in the vicinity of the fire station, the parade <br />be restricted to the east side of the street. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the parade <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- <br />ing recommended approval of the West Side Veteran's Memorial Day <br />Parade to be held on May 25, 1981, with the parade route on Ford <br />Street from Olive, then westerly to Lombardy, and north on Lombardy <br />to the vicinity of Huron Street where the parade will disband, pro- <br />ceeding then to the cemetery. Mr. Wadzinski recommended closing of <br />Olive Street from Huron to Poland; Ford Street from Phillipa to Meade; <br />and Grace Street from Olive to Meade. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the parade was approved. <br />APPROVE REMOVAL OF "NO PARKING" - RASMUSSEN COURT <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- <br />ing, recommended the removal of the "No Parking, Commercial Vehicle <br />Loading Zone" on the east side of Rasmussen Court and the revision <br />to two -hour parking, thereby providing additional on- street parking. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carreid, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS <br />A request from the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was received <br />for permission to have city environmental crews clean the following <br />lots within the city: <br />126 E. Milton 2023 S. Kendall <br />1604 S. Prairie 1851 E. Calvert <br />1311 Sussex 1031 W. Dubail <br />755 South Bend Ave. 210 N. Brookfield <br />933 S. 35th 1118 W. Colfax <br />535 Pulaski 2502 Bertrand <br />713 Lindsey Lot N. of 309 S., Chestnut <br />226 E. Haney 1501 S. Catalpa <br />530 N. Johnson <br />1312 W. Indiana <br />It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the <br />lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following Certificates of Insurance were filed: <br />Schindler - Haughton Elevator Company. <br />671 Spencer Street <br />Toledo, Ohio <br />Slutsky -Peltz Plumbing and Heating <br />1216 West Washington <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />
