REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 13. 1981 <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially <br />affected by such vacation: <br />Lots 693 and 694 of Sunnyside 3rd Addition <br />to the City of South Bend. <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 17th <br />and 24th day of April, 1981, in the South Bend Tribune and <br />in the Tri- County News. <br />This Board, at its office, on the 4th day of May, 1981, <br />at 9:30 o'clock A.M., will hear and receive remonstrances <br />from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 13th day of April, 1981. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Byers, Clerk <br />The reports of the Area Plan Commission, Community Development <br />Department and the Engineering Department indicated that there <br />were.no objections to the proposed vacation. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the reports <br />were filed and Vacation Resolution No. 3508, 1981, was adopted and <br />set for public hearing on May 4, 1981. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO DENY POOL HALL LICENSE (1302 MICHIGAN STREET) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Kernan recommended that the application <br />of James Williams, Archie's House of Barbeque, for a pool hall <br />license at 1302 Michigan Street be denied, after review by the <br />Police Department and the Building Department. It was noted that <br />the location of the pool hall at 1302 Michigan Street would violate <br />the zoning code as it pertains to controlled usage requirements.. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the recommendation to deny the license was approved, and <br />the Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Williams of his right to <br />a hearing before the Board. Mr. Kernan abstained from voting. <br />APPROVE DYNGUS DAY CELEBRATION ON RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, River Bend Plaza Co- <br />ordinator, requested permission to host a Dyngus Day Program on <br />the stage at Robertson's on Monday, April 20, 1981, starting at <br />12:00 noon. Ms. Dobski advised that WSBT would provide live <br />coverage of the event and, although plans were not complete at <br />the present time, it was anticipated the program would include <br />a polka band, dancers, speeches by various Polish citizens and <br />sausage sandwiches and Polish pastries. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request <br />was approved subject to the filing of the appropriate Certificates <br />of Insurance for participating vendors and the issuance of all <br />appropriate licenses. <br />REQUEST FOR RIVER BEND RUN (ETHNIC FESTIVAL) <br />A request of the Special Olympics to conduct the annual 4th of July <br />five -mile run in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival was received. <br />It was noted that a request had been made to the Century Center <br />Board of Managers for use of the Century Center parking lot during <br />the race. Two proposed routes were submitted for consideration. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />
