1-71.. <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 13, 1981 <br />REQUEST FOR WORLD'S LARGEST GARAGE SALE (COLFAX PARKING GARAGE). <br />Ms. Mikki Dobski submitted her annual request for use of the Colfax <br />Parking Garage on Saturday, June 13, 1981, at 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />for the World's Largest Garage Sale. Use of the entire garage was <br />requested for the event. It was noted that the Ardmore Lions Club <br />would provide concession stands as in the past and would be required <br />to submit the required insurance and obtain the required Health <br />Department permit. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by <br />Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was referred to the City <br />Controller and the Manager of the Parking Garages for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED <br />PROPERTY (439 S. WELLINGTON) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Mr. Fred Preston, 429 S. Wellington, <br />had previously expressed an interest in purchasing the city -owned <br />lot located at 439 South Wellington. It was noted that the necessary <br />approvals for the sale of the property had been given, and an offer- <br />ing price of $351.50 established. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the purchase agreement for sale of <br />the above property was approved, and the matter was referred to the <br />Legal Deprartment for preparation of the appropriate deed of conveyance. <br />APPROVAL TO ADVERTISE FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (208 CHAPIN) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that a request to purchase the city -owned lot <br />at 208 Chapin Street had previously been received from Mr. David E. <br />Inman, 626 Marquette. The lot had been approved for sale, appraised <br />and an offering price of $1,160.00 established. In accordance with <br />the requirements of the Municipal Code, any property offered for <br />sale for more than $1,000.00 must be legally advertised and the <br />sale awarded to the highest bid received equal to the offering <br />price. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the sale of the lot was approved for advertising, with <br />bids to be received by the Board on May 11, 1981. <br />REQUEST FROM NEIGHBORHOOD CODE ENFORCEMENT FOR TRASH AND <br />GARBAGE REGULATIONS ON TREE LAWN AREAS <br />A request from Kathy Barnard, Director of the Neighborhood Code <br />Enforcement Office, for the removal of trash and garbage containers <br />from the tree lawn areas within 48 hours after collection was referred <br />to the City Attorney's Office upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried. <br />APPROVE SALE OF POPPIES BY AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY <br />A request was received from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 50 <br />for permission to sell poppies on the city streets on May 15 and <br />May 16, 1981. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved, provided that the <br />sale of the veteran - made poppies be confined to the public sidewalks. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED LOT (412 WEST MONROE STREET) <br />A request was received from Mr. Oscar Van Wiele, 4321 South Fellows, <br />inquiring into the possible purchase of a city -owned lot located at <br />412 West Monroe Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to <br />the various city agencies for a determination as to whether or <br />not the city need retain the lot for any reason. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
