He stated <br />that there was a fence around the house at its present location which <br />stood about two and a half feet high and part of that original fence <br />might be erected. He further advised that Southhold Restorations <br />has a deed and easement on the structure and any other changes to <br />the building would need to be approved by its Board of Directors. <br />Mr. Kernan asked that Lykowski keep Mr. Wilems informed of its <br />progress on the move. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the house move was approved. <br />FILING OF PETITION FOR INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS (WOODBINE WAY) <br />A petition signed by residents in the 900 and 1000 block of Woodbine <br />Way was submitted for the installation of street lights in the interest <br />of public safety. Mr. Leszczynski.advised that the street light <br />moritorium was still in effect unless it was determined that a safety <br />problem existed. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the petition was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and recom- <br />endation. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE <br />An application was received from Mr. Willie Lot on behalf of Realistic <br />Cab Company, 6.18 North Olive, for the operation of taxicabs within <br />the City of South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski advised that, according to <br />the Municipal Code, a public hearing must be scheduled on the applica- <br />tion for a determination as to whether or not additional taxicab <br />service is needed. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the application was referred to the <br />Controller's Office for review and a public hearing was scheduled <br />on April 27, 1981.%' <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT MODIFICATION (MICHIANA AREA CETA CONSORTIUM) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that approval was being requested on Modifica- <br />tion No. 1 to the contract between the City of South Bend and the <br />Michiana Area CETA Consortium which was approved on November 24, <br />1980. He further advised that the budget was increased $50,538.00, <br />approximately $33,000.00 which would be used to fund the various <br />positions with the remainder being administrative costs. He <br />explained that the positions were currently funded under CETA and <br />the modification would allow for the continuance of those jobs. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the contract modification was approved. <br />FILING OF REPORTS AND ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION <br />NO. 3508, 1981 (SUNNYMEDE THIRD ADDITION) <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3508, 1981 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />First 14' north -south alley east of Sunnyside <br />running north from Wall Street to the projected <br />south right -of -way line of the east -west alley <br />for a distance of 128.1' between Lots 694 and <br />693 of Sunnyside 3rd Addition to the City of <br />South Bend. <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the <br />Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain <br />any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: <br />electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control <br />structures and ditches, within the vacated right -of -way, unless <br />such rights are released by the individual Utilities. <br />*NOTE: On April 21, 1981, the application was withdrawn <br />by Mr. Lott. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
