REGULAR MEETING MARCH 16, 1981 <br />Bureau of Housing: local homesteading program (budget <br />not to exceed $30,000.00) <br />National Spinal Cord Injury Foundation: Addendum provides <br />for a change in contract procedure and does not change <br />the original amount of the contract of $25,000.00 <br />which was approved by the Board on January 19, 1981 <br />It was noted that the above contracts would fund routine program <br />activities connected with the aforementioned projects. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above contracts and addendum were approved. <br />FILING OF PARKING RATE INCREASES - NATIONAL AUTOPARK, INC. <br />Mr. Hill noted that National Autopark, Inc., in accordance with <br />ordinance requirements, was submitting its parking rate changes to <br />the Board for informational purposes. He stated that the Board has <br />no authority to approve or deny the changes, but merely must be <br />notified of the changes. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by <br />Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following rate increases in parking <br />were filed: <br />Present Parking Fee Revised Parking Fee <br />1st <br />hour <br />$ .50 <br />1st <br />hour <br />$ .65 <br />Up <br />to 3 hours <br />1.00 <br />Up <br />to 2 hours <br />1.10 <br />Up <br />to 5 hours <br />1.25 <br />Up <br />to 3 hours <br />1.25 <br />Up <br />to 7 hours <br />1.50 <br />Up <br />to 4 hours <br />1.50 <br />Up <br />to 24 hours <br />1.75 <br />Up <br />to 8 hours <br />2.00 <br />Car <br />released after <br />Up <br />to 12 hours <br />2.25 <br />closing <br />5.00 <br />Up <br />to 24 hours <br />3.00 <br />Car <br />released after <br />closing <br />5.00 <br />APPROVE PASSING OUT OF BALLOONS ON RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />(PICK - AMERICANA HOTEL) <br />A request from the Albert Pick Hotel of South Bend, recently renamed <br />the Pick - Americana Hotel, was submitted for permission to promote <br />the recent name change by passing out balloons on River Bend Plaza <br />on April 1, 1981, during the lunch hour. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was <br />approved provided that all balloons be filled on the Pick property <br />and the mall area be used strictly for the distribution of the <br />balloons only and that no tanks be allowed on the Plaza area. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES <br />A request was received from Elvis Willis, 302 Napoleon Boulevard, <br />inquiring into the possible purchase of a city -owned lot located at <br />1113 North Burns Street. A similar request from Linda Lorenz, 1026 <br />Woodward, was received for the possible purchase of city -owned property <br />at 1032 DeMaude Avenue. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the requests were referred to the various <br />city agencies for a determination as to whether or not the lots need <br />be retained for any reason. <br />REQUEST FOR ROAD RUN - BROADWAY CHRISTIAN PARISH <br />A request from George Procter - Smith, Minister of the Broadway <br />Christian Parish, was received for permission to conduct a road run <br />on October 17, 1981, in accordance with the route previously approved <br />in 1980. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />i <br />
