REGULAR MEETING MARCH 16, 1981 Bureau of Housing: local homesteading program (budget not to exceed $30,000.00) National Spinal Cord Injury Foundation: Addendum provides for a change in contract procedure and does not change the original amount of the contract of $25,000.00 which was approved by the Board on January 19, 1981 It was noted that the above contracts would fund routine program activities connected with the aforementioned projects. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above contracts and addendum were approved. FILING OF PARKING RATE INCREASES - NATIONAL AUTOPARK, INC. Mr. Hill noted that National Autopark, Inc., in accordance with ordinance requirements, was submitting its parking rate changes to the Board for informational purposes. He stated that the Board has no authority to approve or deny the changes, but merely must be notified of the changes. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following rate increases in parking were filed: Present Parking Fee Revised Parking Fee 1st hour $ .50 1st hour $ .65 Up to 3 hours 1.00 Up to 2 hours 1.10 Up to 5 hours 1.25 Up to 3 hours 1.25 Up to 7 hours 1.50 Up to 4 hours 1.50 Up to 24 hours 1.75 Up to 8 hours 2.00 Car released after Up to 12 hours 2.25 closing 5.00 Up to 24 hours 3.00 Car released after closing 5.00 APPROVE PASSING OUT OF BALLOONS ON RIVER BEND PLAZA (PICK - AMERICANA HOTEL) A request from the Albert Pick Hotel of South Bend, recently renamed the Pick - Americana Hotel, was submitted for permission to promote the recent name change by passing out balloons on River Bend Plaza on April 1, 1981, during the lunch hour. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request was approved provided that all balloons be filled on the Pick property and the mall area be used strictly for the distribution of the balloons only and that no tanks be allowed on the Plaza area. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES A request was received from Elvis Willis, 302 Napoleon Boulevard, inquiring into the possible purchase of a city -owned lot located at 1113 North Burns Street. A similar request from Linda Lorenz, 1026 Woodward, was received for the possible purchase of city -owned property at 1032 DeMaude Avenue. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the requests were referred to the various city agencies for a determination as to whether or not the lots need be retained for any reason. REQUEST FOR ROAD RUN - BROADWAY CHRISTIAN PARISH A request from George Procter - Smith, Minister of the Broadway Christian Parish, was received for permission to conduct a road run on October 17, 1981, in accordance with the route previously approved in 1980. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. 1 i
