i <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 16, 1981 <br />AWARD BID — DIESEL FUEL AND HEATING OIL <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph Kernan, Controller, and Mr. <br />Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, recommended <br />the award of the bid of Circle Oil Corporation as follows: <br />5,000 gallons No. 1 Diesel /No. 1 Heating Oil $1.1225 /gallon <br />Tank Wagon Delivery <br />25,000 gallons No. 2 Diesel /No. 2 Heating Oil $1.0825 /gallon <br />Tank Wagon Delivery <br />It was noted that bids for the above diesel fuel and heating oil had <br />been received by the Board on March 2, 1981. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the bid was awarded <br />as indicated above. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 9, 1981 (DISPOSE OF OBSOLETE <br />VEHICLE - POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Dan Thompson requested permission <br />to dispose of a 1979 Ford which had been involved in an accident in <br />1980 and was beyond repair. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, approval to dispose of the vehicle <br />was given and the following Resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9, 1981 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />that the following vehicle is obsolete and deteriorated to the <br />point where repair costs would exceed its value: <br />Police Department - 1979 Ford, Serial No. 9H27F131894 <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 186, Acts of 1967, of the Indiana General <br />Assembly, permits the sale of personal property no longer <br />needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of <br />the City of South Bend that the above listed vehicle is obsolete <br />and not needed by the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance <br />be authorized to scrap said vehicle and that it be removed from <br />the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />Adopted: March 16, 1981 <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Barbara J. Hill <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - 1981 POLICE PATROL CARS <br />Police Chief Dan Thompson requested permission to advertise to receive <br />bids for up to 39 police patrol cars in accordance with the specifi- <br />cations drawn up by Sergeant Harold Grounds, Division Chief Spandward <br />Mitchem, Chief Thompson and Safety Board Assistant Robert Potvin. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request was approved and the Board set the date of April <br />6, 1981, as the date on which bids would be received. <br />NOTE: At the March 23rd meeting of the Board the bid opening <br />date was changed to March 31, at 9:00 a.m. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
