REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 9. 1981 <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 8, 1981 (DISPOSE OF OBSOLETE VEHICLE) <br />Chief Brassell requested permission of the Board to declare obsolete <br />a 1975 Chevrolet C -60 which the Fire Department had utilized as <br />Rescue 1. He advised that the vehicle. has been replaced with a <br />1980 Chevrolet Step Van. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the following resolution was <br />adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8, 1981 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />that the following vehicle is obsolete and deteriorated to <br />the point where repair costs would exceed its value: <br />Fire Department - <br />1975 Chevrolet C -60 <br />Serial No. CC665V104735 <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 186, Acts of 1967.; 'of the- 1Adiana 'Gerieral <br />Assembly, permits the sale of personal property no longer <br />needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the above listed vehicle is <br />obsolete and not needed by the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance <br />be authorized to scrap said vehicle and that it be removed <br />from the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />Adopted: March 9, 1981 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. WERNTZ COMPANY - FIRST BANK CENTER) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that a Certificate of Substantial Completion <br />had been reviewed by the Construction Manager and Architect for <br />the First Bank Center Garage for J.. W.:'- Werntz Company:' He advised <br />that Werntz had been the supplier of steel doors and frames in the <br />amount of $4,890.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the Certificate of Substantial Completion <br />was approved, and the Waiver of Lien was filed. <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY (RIVER PARK NURSING HOME <br />A petition signed by River Park Nursing Homes, owners of real estate <br />at 915 and 925 South 27th Street; and Maureen C. Henry, owner of <br />the real estate at 926 South 26th Street, was submitted for the <br />vacation of the east -west alley in the 900 block between 26th and <br />27th Streets. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded.by <br />Mr. Kernan and carried, the petition was referred to the Engineering <br />Department, Department of Community Development and the Area Plan <br />Commission for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY (SUNNYMEDE THIRD ADDITION <br />A petition signed by Victor DeCola and Timothy Kinney as owners of <br />1341 and 1401 Wall Street respectively was submitted for the vacation <br />
