�rf_ 7) <br />ril D <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APPROVAL OF AFFIDAVIT OF COMPLETION FOR FIRE STATION NO. 11 (HARRY H. <br />VERKLER, CONTRACTOR, INC.) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the general contractor for Fire Station No. <br />11 was submitting for Board approval an Affidavit of Completion and <br />Waiver of Lien. He advised that the total amount of Verkler's contract <br />was $312,763.00. He stated that the Engineering Department had inspected <br />the facility and recommended approval of the Affidavit of Completion. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the Affidavit of Completion and Waiver of Lien were approved <br />and filed. <br />APPROVE NOTIFICATION TO GRAND TRUNK AND WESTERN RAILROAD FOR REPAIR <br />OF TRACKS AT OLIVE - SAMPLE STREET CROSSING <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Councilman Walter Kopczynski had contacted <br />him concerning the condition of the railroad tracks at the Olive - Sample <br />Street crossing. He explained that several sections of the track had <br />deteriorated even more over the past couple of months because of the <br />weather, and the city felt the railroad should be contacted to have <br />the necessary repairs made within 30 days or take steps to have the work <br />done itself and recover costs in accordance with Indiana Code. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />Board authorized a notice to be sent to the Grand Trunk and Western <br />Railroad concerning the need for immediate repairs. <br />APPROVAL OF OPEN AIR STAND LICENSE - DAWG HOUSE (2015 W. WESTERN <br />An application for renewal of an Open Air Stand License at 2015 West <br />Western Avenue was received from the Dawg House. It was noted that <br />permission to use the property for this purpose was on file from <br />Mr. Jerry Hammes of the Marycrest Building. Mr. Leszczynski advised <br />that the Health Department had reported that the establishment was in <br />conformance with the minimum requirements of the local restaurant <br />ordinance and the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office had made an <br />inspection and had found no trash and debris on the premises. In <br />accordance with the Board's policy on open air stands and the favorable <br />reports from the Health Department and the Neighborhood Code Enforcement <br />Office, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the renewal of license for 1981 was approved and referred to <br />the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (614 SOUTH RUSH) <br />A request from Mr. and Mrs. James Jewell, 612 South Rush, inquiring <br />into the possibility of purchasing a city -owned lot at 614 South Rush <br />was received by the Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to various <br />city agencies for a review and recommendation to determine whether or <br />not the city need retain the lot for any reason. <br />REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING ON MARINE STREET <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Jack Overton, 1128 East Haney, requested <br />that consideration be given to the possibility of limiting parking to <br />one side of the street on Marine between Indiana and Broadway because <br />of the narrowness of the street and the fact that parking was now <br />allowed on both sides. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the following traffic control devices were approved on the recommenda- <br />tion of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />
