" .) <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 26 1981 <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH MONARCH INDUSTRIAL TOWEL AND UNIFORM RENTAL <br />On January 5, 1981, the Board awarded the low bid of Monarch Industrial <br />Towel and Uniform Rental for the furnishing and cleaning of uniforms <br />for various city departments for a two -year period in a total amount <br />of $104,985.28. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the contract to provide the above services was <br />approved and executed. It was noted that a 100% Performance Bond <br />for Monarch had already been filed with the Board. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF WARRANTY DEED FROM IVY TECH FOUNDATION <br />(SAMPLE STREET WIDENING PROJECT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the city had acquired certain property <br />from the Ivy Tech Foundation which was needed in the Sample Street <br />Widening Project in the amount of $6,000. He advised that the <br />Warranty Deed for the property had been executed and turned over to <br />the city. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the Deed was accepted and the Clerk instructed to <br />have the document duly recorded. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3503, 1980 <br />(INTERIOR STREETS, BEACON HEIGHTS APARTMENT COMPLEX) <br />John E. Leszczynski, City Engineer, filed an Assessment Roll with <br />respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3503, 1980, for the vacation of <br />the interior streets within the Beacon Heights Apartment Complex, <br />more commonly known as Curtiss Drive and Putnam Drive. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: <br />Beacon Heights (South Bend Defense Housing) <br />The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits <br />to the abutting properties. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Assessment Roll was filed and <br />set for public hearing on February 23, 1981. <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENTS FOR CENSUS DATA (DONNELLEY MARKETING <br />Mr. Steve Compton, Deputy Director for the Department of Community <br />Development, in a letter to the Board requested approval to enter <br />into agreements with Donnelley Marketing in order to obtain 1979 <br />and 1980 census data for St. Joseph County, at a total cost of <br />$400.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the agreements were approved. <br />APPROVAL OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM CONTRACT <br />(NEIGHBORHOOD CODE ENFORCEMENT) <br />Ms. Marzy Bauer, Director of the Department of Community Development, <br />submitted for Board approval a contract with the Neighborhood Code <br />Enforcement Office for work under the Community Development Program <br />for a total budget amount not to exceed $18,500. It was noted that <br />the contract would fund routine program activities through Community <br />Development. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the contract was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following traffic control devices were approved as <br />recommended by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />REMOVE 15 MINUTE PARKING - 609 -615 W. Indiana <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - On Navarre at Leland <br />REVISE TO 2 HR. PARKING 6 AM - 6 PM - West side of <br />500 S. Main Street (former Bus Station) <br />REVISE TO NO PARKING - South side of 200 W. Monroe, <br />E. 2 block (former Bus Station) <br />
