?"�r:) <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 26, 1981 <br />REQUEST FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 733 EAST DUBAIL <br />A request was received from Mr. Floyd J. Hurst, 733 East Dubail, for <br />a handicapped parking space in front of his home. In his letter to <br />the Board, Mr. Hurst indicated that he had a vascular condition which <br />limits the distance he can walk and, since he lived across the <br />street from Studebaker School and the Urban League Office was on <br />the corner of High and Dubail, on many occasions he was not able <br />to park his car in front of his home. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recom- <br />mendation. <br />DENY REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND MEDICAL FOUNDATION FOR REMOVAL <br />OF HANDICAPPED PARKING <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Medical Foundation had, on January <br />19, 1981, submitted a letter requesting the removal of the handicapped <br />parking area in front of its facility at 531 North Main Street. Mr. <br />Kernan felt that the handicapped individuals who currently hold <br />permits for such parking needed the specially - marked handicapped <br />parking areas and he stated that, to remove the parking in front of <br />the facility, it would cause an unnecessary hardship on handicapped <br />individuals. For that reason, he made a motion to deny the request <br />to remove the handicapped parking. The motion was seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT ROAD RUN - ST. ADALBERT'S CHURCH <br />A request from St. Adalbert's Church to hold a road race on July 19, <br />1981, starting at 6:00 p.m., beginning and ending at the church was <br />received. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski., seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recom- <br />mendation. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (513 WALNUT STREET) <br />Mr. J. L. Whitehouse, 523 S. Harris Street, submitted a letter <br />expressing an interest in purchasing the city -owned lot located at <br />513 Walnut Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the various <br />city agencies for a determination as to whether or not the lot need <br />be retained by the city for any reason. <br />APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS <br />A request from the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was received <br />for permission to have city environmental crews clean the following <br />lots within the city: <br />ADDRESS <br />CONDITION <br />Lots between 505 & 509 29th St. Open excavation, dirt piles <br />2002 Western Litter, junk, trash <br />1520 W. Western Litter, junk <br />It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the <br />lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE CANCELLATION OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak recommended cancellation of the Contractor's <br />Bond of Daniel Skwarcan. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Contractor's Bond was released. <br />1 <br />E <br />
