REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 18, 1980 Mr. McMahon stated that the police vehicle being a 1980 Dodge had been involved in an automobile accident and had been totally demolished and an agreement had been reached with the insurance company for salvage rights to the vehicle. Fire Chief Brassell was requesting permission to dispose of a 1953 Ladder Trailer and two Physio- Control Life Pack 3 Heart Monitors. Chief Brassell stated that the.trailer had been stripped of usable parts and the remainder of the trailer would be sold for scrap. In addition, the two life packs would be sold; however, the market for that type of equipment was very limited.. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, . the above resolution was adopted. APPROVE OPEN AIR STAND LICENSE - RIVER BEND PLAZA Ms. Geneva Evans, 1727 South MacGregor, submitted an application for an open air stand license on River Bend Plaza in.order to sell home- made arts and crafts. Ms. Mikki Dobski, River Bend Plaza_ Coordinator, recommended approval of the request. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the license was approved through October 1, 1980, with the location of the stand and coordina- tion of the activity to be at the discretion of Ms. Dobski. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 201 N. MEADE A request to purchase city -owned property located at 201 N. Meade Street was received from Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Herron. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request was referred to the various city agencies for review and a determina- tion whether or not the city need retain the property for any reason. APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted the following recommendations regarding traffic control devices: Installation of a Stop Sign on Rosemary at Dorwood (uncontrolled T intersection); Installation of 15 Minute Parking 6 -6 Mon. - Sat., at 1109 Western Avenue; Removal of a No Turn on Red on Williams at Western; Removal of a No Turn on Red for west and north approaches on Western and Taylor. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above traffic control devices were approved. APPROVAL OF STREET LIGHTS Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted his recommendation concerning the installation of 18 high pressure sodium street lights on Washington.Street between Chapin and Williams at an additional cost of $79.20 /month, or $4.40/ fixture, in conjunction with the Washington Street Lighting Project which was let in December, 1979. It was noted that the costs of the project had been calculated in the street lighting budget before the moratorium was set, and sufficient funds were available in the budget to cover the cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the streetlights were approved. APPROVAL OF BLOCK PARTY (COMBINED DEMOCRATIC AND CIVIC CLUB Mr. Ralph J.
