REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 21, 1980 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle <br />Maintenance be authorized to scrap said vehicle <br />and that it be removed from the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />Adopted: July 21, 1980 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Patrick M. McMahon <br />s/ Richard L. Hill <br />s/ Joseph E. Kernan <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Barbara J. Byers, Clerk <br />Services Division Chief Spandward Mitchem advised the Board that <br />the above vehicle had been involved in an accident and had been <br />determined to be beyond repair. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above resolution was adopted. <br />APPROVE ADVERTISING FOR BIDS SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />( 1001 W. WASHINGTON STU=) <br />Two requests for purchase of the city -owned lot located at 1001 W. <br />Washington had been received previously by the Board. In accord- <br />ance with the requirements of the Municipal Code, the property <br />had been cleared for sale, appraised and an offering price <br />established at $1,054.00. It was requested that the Board <br />authorize advertising for bids for the sale of the property, <br />with the sale awarded to the highest bid received equal to the <br />offering price. Upon a motion made by Mr.- McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the request for advertising was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY 2300 aind 2400 BLOCKS OF HOLLYWOOD PLACE <br />A request from Mrs. Phillip R. Harris, 2332 Hollywood Place, for <br />permission to hold a block party in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of <br />Hollywood Place on Saturday, August 2, 1980, from mid - afternoon <br />to 10:00 p.m. was received by the Board. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and _Lighting and the Traffic <br />Division of the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />,REQUEST FOR MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY RUN - OCTOBER 12, 1980 <br />A request for permission to hold the Second Annual Muscular <br />Dystrophy Run, sponsored by the Distributive Education Clubs of <br />America and the South Bend Community School Corporation, on <br />October 12, 1980, was received by the Board._ It was requested <br />that the run start at 2:00 p.m., at Potawatomi Park and follow <br />the river to Howard Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Traffic Division of <br />the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS - AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY <br />A request from the American Cancer Society for permission to <br />conduct solicitations at various intersections within the city <br />on August 16, 1980, with a rain date of August 23, 1980, was <br />submitted for Board action. It was requested that the contribu- <br />tions be solicited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. <br />and that between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, funds <br />be solicited at the corner of Northside Boulevard and Sample <br />Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Traffic Division of the Police Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
