REGULAR MEETING JULY 21, 1980 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance be authorized to scrap said vehicle and that it be removed from the City Vehicle Inventory. Adopted: July 21, 1980 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS s/ Patrick M. McMahon s/ Richard L. Hill s/ Joseph E. Kernan ATTEST: s/ Barbara J. Byers, Clerk Services Division Chief Spandward Mitchem advised the Board that the above vehicle had been involved in an accident and had been determined to be beyond repair. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above resolution was adopted. APPROVE ADVERTISING FOR BIDS SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY ( 1001 W. WASHINGTON STU=) Two requests for purchase of the city -owned lot located at 1001 W. Washington had been received previously by the Board. In accord- ance with the requirements of the Municipal Code, the property had been cleared for sale, appraised and an offering price established at $1,054.00. It was requested that the Board authorize advertising for bids for the sale of the property, with the sale awarded to the highest bid received equal to the offering price. Upon a motion made by Mr.- McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request for advertising was approved. REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY 2300 aind 2400 BLOCKS OF HOLLYWOOD PLACE A request from Mrs. Phillip R. Harris, 2332 Hollywood Place, for permission to hold a block party in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Hollywood Place on Saturday, August 2, 1980, from mid - afternoon to 10:00 p.m. was received by the Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and _Lighting and the Traffic Division of the Police Department for review and recommendation. ,REQUEST FOR MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY RUN - OCTOBER 12, 1980 A request for permission to hold the Second Annual Muscular Dystrophy Run, sponsored by the Distributive Education Clubs of America and the South Bend Community School Corporation, on October 12, 1980, was received by the Board._ It was requested that the run start at 2:00 p.m., at Potawatomi Park and follow the river to Howard Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Traffic Division of the Police Department for review and recommendation. REQUEST FOR INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS - AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY A request from the American Cancer Society for permission to conduct solicitations at various intersections within the city on August 16, 1980, with a rain date of August 23, 1980, was submitted for Board action. It was requested that the contribu- tions be solicited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and that between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, funds be solicited at the corner of Northside Boulevard and Sample Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Traffic Division of the Police Department for review and recommendation. 1 1 1
