w REGULAR MEETING JULY 21, 1980 REQUEST OF BROADWAY CHRISTIAN CHURCH FOR FOOT RACE A recommendation received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended denial of the foot race to be sponsored by the Broadway Christian Parish on Saturday, November 1, 1980, starting at 8:00 a.m. Mr. McMahon asked that Mr. Wadzinski furnish the Board with his basis for recommending denial of the request. APPROVE STOKELY - ARTHRITIS HIKE /BIKE Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended approval of the request for the Stokely- Arthritis Hike /Bike to be conducted on September 7, 1980, in accordance with the route submitted. Mr..Wadzinski advised that the petitioning party contact the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting one week in advance of the proposed hike /bike to verify that all streets involved are open and not closed by unforeseen construction problems or emergencies. Mr. Wadzinski also recom- mended that the petitioning party contact Captain Sweitzer as soon as possible to make arrangements for proper manpower to cover the hike /bike. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the hike /bike was approved. APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski requested approval of the installation of "No Parking" on the west side of St. Louis Boulevard from Madison Street north to the driveway of the newly constructed St. Joseph Hospital parking lot driveway (an estimated distance of 60 feet across St. Joseph Hospital property frontage). Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the traffic control device was approved. APPROVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS A request from the Environmental /Action Center was received for permission to have city environmental crews clean the following lots within the city: ADDRESS CONDITION 2 lots east of 1024 DeMaude Weeds, entire lot 318 N. Walnut Weeds, junk, hi -grass 536 Blaine Litter in rear & junk Hoose Court & Scott Junk, garbage & trash Lots S. 1022 Burns Weeds Lot N. of 1122 Burns Weeds Lot N/E corner So. Bend & Burns Weeds Lot across from 1242 N. Ironwood Weeds Lot N/W corner Campeau & Northwood Weeds Lot S/E corner Campeau & Northwood Weeds S/W corner Colfax & Sunnyside Weeds Lot S/E corner Sorin & Arthur Litter, weeds 721 Cottage Grove Brush, dirt piles, grass clippings It was noted that the property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved. HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS APPROVED The following applications for handicapped parking permits were received for approval: Mrs. Evelyn Hartman Doctor's certificate attached 52290 Santa Monica Drive Granger, Indiana
