REGULAR MEETING <br />�® <br />MARCH 5. 1979 <br />ENGINEERING AGREEMENT APPROVED 7 RECONSTRUCTION OF MIAMI STREET <br />NEAR CONRAIL BRIDGE STRUCTURE <br />An Engineering Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />Lawson - Fisher Associates for preliminary engineering for the <br />reconstruction of Miami Street, 350 feet north and 350 feet south <br />of the Conrail Bridge structure, was submitted to the Board. The <br />Agreement has been reviewed by the Engineering and Legal Departments, <br />and approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the agreement was approved. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED FOR BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />requested that the Board advertise for bids for Traffic Controllers <br />and for a one ton truck. Specifications are being prepared and <br />will be filed with the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request <br />to advertise and the bid. date will be determined when specifications <br />are received. <br />SERVICE COURT #5 TO BE ONE 14AY SOUTHBOUND <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended that the Board make Service Court #5, which runs north <br />and south from Washington to Jefferson, between the Plaza and St. <br />Joseph Street, be made one wav, south bound. Mr. Wadzinski noted <br />that the court is heavily,used by commercial delivery trucks and <br />public parking sometimes reduces the court to one lane causing <br />congestion. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recommendation to <br />designate Service Court #5 One Way Southbound. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATION APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended that the following underpass lights be <br />added to the LSC tariff: <br />Michigan and Bronson, 15 lights 25,500L HPS @ 4.40 66.00 <br />Fellows, <br />4 lights <br />25,500L HPS @ <br />4.40 <br />17.60 <br />Sample, 8 <br />lights <br />25,500L HPS @ <br />4.40 <br />35.20 <br />Marietta, <br />4 lights <br />25,500L HPS @ <br />4.40 <br />17.60 <br />High, 5 lights <br />25,500L HPS @ <br />4.40 <br />22.00 <br />Miami, 4 <br />lights <br />25,500L HPS @ <br />4.40 <br />17.60 <br />Total Monthly <br />Cost <br />$176.00 <br />Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and <br />carried, <br />the recommendation was <br />approved, <br />APPROVAL OF NO PARKING AREAS, ESTHER, GREENLAWN AND HILDRETH <br />At the request of Indiana University at South Bend, the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting had under review proposals for No <br />Parking areas around the university. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager <br />of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended that the Board <br />approve the requests and add an additional no parking zone on <br />Hildreth Street at the suggestion of his Bureau. The recommendations <br />were as follows: <br />A. No Parking on the West side of Greenlawn, from Ruskin to Hildreth, <br />and from Hildreth to a point approximately 150 feet south <br />
