REGULAR MEETING �® MARCH 5. 1979 ENGINEERING AGREEMENT APPROVED 7 RECONSTRUCTION OF MIAMI STREET NEAR CONRAIL BRIDGE STRUCTURE An Engineering Agreement between the City of South Bend and Lawson - Fisher Associates for preliminary engineering for the reconstruction of Miami Street, 350 feet north and 350 feet south of the Conrail Bridge structure, was submitted to the Board. The Agreement has been reviewed by the Engineering and Legal Departments, and approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the agreement was approved. BID ADVERTISING APPROVED FOR BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, requested that the Board advertise for bids for Traffic Controllers and for a one ton truck. Specifications are being prepared and will be filed with the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request to advertise and the bid. date will be determined when specifications are received. SERVICE COURT #5 TO BE ONE 14AY SOUTHBOUND Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended that the Board make Service Court #5, which runs north and south from Washington to Jefferson, between the Plaza and St. Joseph Street, be made one wav, south bound. Mr. Wadzinski noted that the court is heavily,used by commercial delivery trucks and public parking sometimes reduces the court to one lane causing congestion. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recommendation to designate Service Court #5 One Way Southbound. STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATION APPROVED Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended that the following underpass lights be added to the LSC tariff: Michigan and Bronson, 15 lights 25,500L HPS @ 4.40 66.00 Fellows, 4 lights 25,500L HPS @ 4.40 17.60 Sample, 8 lights 25,500L HPS @ 4.40 35.20 Marietta, 4 lights 25,500L HPS @ 4.40 17.60 High, 5 lights 25,500L HPS @ 4.40 22.00 Miami, 4 lights 25,500L HPS @ 4.40 17.60 Total Monthly Cost $176.00 Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved, APPROVAL OF NO PARKING AREAS, ESTHER, GREENLAWN AND HILDRETH At the request of Indiana University at South Bend, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting had under review proposals for No Parking areas around the university. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended that the Board approve the requests and add an additional no parking zone on Hildreth Street at the suggestion of his Bureau. The recommendations were as follows: A. No Parking on the West side of Greenlawn, from Ruskin to Hildreth, and from Hildreth to a point approximately 150 feet south
