HE <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 5, 1979 <br />B. No Parking on the east side of Esther, from Ruskin to <br />Mishawaka Avenue <br />C. No Parking on the.north side of Hildreth, from Esther to <br />a point approximately 150 feet east. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended installation of the following traffic control <br />devices: <br />A.. No Parking on the west side of Leeper Avenue, from 130 feet <br />north of North Shore to 445 feet north of North Shore, <br />at the request of Leeper Avenue residents. <br />B. No Parking on a 90 day temporary basis on the east side <br />of Michigan Street, from Navarre south to the Value House <br />Driveway and the existing No Parking Zone, requested by the <br />South Bend Police Department to provide two lanes of <br />northbound traffic and attempt to reduce the accident rate. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and. <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />SUB -GRANT AGREEMENTS APPROVED, BUREAU OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING <br />Elroy Kelzenberg, Manager of the Bureau of Employment and Training, <br />submitted to the Board Subgrant Agreements with the Penn- Harris- <br />Madison School Corporation and the South Bend Community School <br />Corporation. Mr. Kelzenberg noted that the Bureau is mandated <br />to set aside twenty -two per cent of Title III funds for youth <br />experience and training programs as a service to in- school youth <br />and these agreements cover those programs. The PHM agreement <br />is in the amount of $4,641.60 and the SBCSC agreement is in the <br />amount of $13,645.00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the sub -grant agreements were approved. <br />FILING OF NOTIFICATION TO LANDMARK. INC. RE: MICHIGAN /MAIN CONNECTOR <br />Patrick McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted to the Board <br />a copy of notification sent by Certified Mail to Landmark of <br />Indiana, Inc., notifying them that it is the intent of the City <br />to construct the Michigan /Main Connector during the 1979 <br />construction season, utilizing real estate located at the northwest <br />corner of Michigan and Marion Streets, said real estate bein.g the <br />subject of a lease between the City of South Bend and Landmark <br />of Indiana, Inc., dated March 8,:1976. In accordance with the <br />terms of the lease, the letter is'written notice of the City's <br />intent to construct the connector and the lease of the property <br />is to terminate upon the ninetieth day after delivery of the <br />notice or June 1, 1979. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the notification was ordered filed. <br />
