HE REGULAR MEETING MARCH 5, 1979 B. No Parking on the east side of Esther, from Ruskin to Mishawaka Avenue C. No Parking on the.north side of Hildreth, from Esther to a point approximately 150 feet east. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendations were approved. TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended installation of the following traffic control devices: A.. No Parking on the west side of Leeper Avenue, from 130 feet north of North Shore to 445 feet north of North Shore, at the request of Leeper Avenue residents. B. No Parking on a 90 day temporary basis on the east side of Michigan Street, from Navarre south to the Value House Driveway and the existing No Parking Zone, requested by the South Bend Police Department to provide two lanes of northbound traffic and attempt to reduce the accident rate. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and. carried, the recommendations were approved. SUB -GRANT AGREEMENTS APPROVED, BUREAU OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING Elroy Kelzenberg, Manager of the Bureau of Employment and Training, submitted to the Board Subgrant Agreements with the Penn- Harris- Madison School Corporation and the South Bend Community School Corporation. Mr. Kelzenberg noted that the Bureau is mandated to set aside twenty -two per cent of Title III funds for youth experience and training programs as a service to in- school youth and these agreements cover those programs. The PHM agreement is in the amount of $4,641.60 and the SBCSC agreement is in the amount of $13,645.00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the sub -grant agreements were approved. FILING OF NOTIFICATION TO LANDMARK. INC. RE: MICHIGAN /MAIN CONNECTOR Patrick McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted to the Board a copy of notification sent by Certified Mail to Landmark of Indiana, Inc., notifying them that it is the intent of the City to construct the Michigan /Main Connector during the 1979 construction season, utilizing real estate located at the northwest corner of Michigan and Marion Streets, said real estate bein.g the subject of a lease between the City of South Bend and Landmark of Indiana, Inc., dated March 8,:1976. In accordance with the terms of the lease, the letter is'written notice of the City's intent to construct the connector and the lease of the property is to terminate upon the ninetieth day after delivery of the notice or June 1, 1979. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the notification was ordered filed.
