Masters, Assistant City Attorney, submitted to the Board <br />correspondence received with regard to the proposed modernization <br />of Conrail Crossing Gates on certain tracks on the City's <br />southeast side. This information was forwarded in response to a <br />formal letter filed by the City Attorney's Office with the Public <br />Service Commission of Indiana complaining of the malfunctioning <br />gates on Conrail crossings on Leer, Vernon, Caroline, Robinson, <br />Ironwood and Twyckenham. Mr. Masters noted in his memorandum <br />that members of the Southeast United Neighborhood and other <br />neighborhood residents have been assisting the City Attorney's <br />Office in the efforts to correct the problems at Conrail crossings. <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the correspondence includes information <br />regarding requests for federal funds for the repair of the crossing <br />gates. This funding was pursued by the City earlier but the <br />request was not approved. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the correspondence was filed <br />and referred to the Division of Engineering for the filing of the <br />necessary application for federal funds for the repair'of the <br />crossing gates. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Chief Deputy City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted to the <br />Board Claim Docket Numbers l through 832 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 1 through 832 <br />and directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE - MORSE ELECTRIC COMPANY <br />A Certificate of Insurance on behalf of the Morse Electric Company <br />was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the certificate was ordered filed. <br />
