358 <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 8, 1979 <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3462 RESCINDED <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the following document rescinding Vacation Resolution <br />No. 3462 was adopted: <br />VACATION RESOLUTION RESCINDED <br />VACATION RESOLUTION N0: 3462, 1978 <br />January 8, 1979 <br />Vacation Resolution No. 3462, 1978 for the vacation of the <br />alley running south from Lincolnway West, between Walnut <br />Street and Diamond Avenue, was adopted on September 5, 1978 <br />and confirmed on September 25, 1978, subject to the <br />petitioner, Elizabeth Memorial Church of God in Christ, deeding <br />to the City of South Bend, Indiana a five -foot right -of -way , <br />on the south end of Lot 1, Orchard Heights Addition, to provide <br />a turning radius into the remaining alley. <br />The petitioner is unwilling to deed the necessary right -of -way <br />to the City of South Bend. Therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA that Vacation Resolution No. 3462, 1978 duly <br />adopted on September 5, 1978 and confirmed on September 25, 1978 <br />is in all things rescinded and the vacation is hereby ordered <br />not to be made. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Patrick 11. Mullen <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period December 28 through <br />January 4 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated eight <br />outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PARADE REQUEST ADDED TO AGENDA <br />A request from the Knights of Columbus for a parade was delivered <br />to the Board while the meeting was in session. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />request was added to the agenda. <br />KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PARADE APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from the Knights of Columbus to <br />hold a parade on Sunday, January 21, 1979 at 1:00 p.m. from the <br />Knights of Columbus Hall to St. Patrick's Church on a route <br />submitted. The parade is to be a silent demonstration against <br />the Supreme Court ruling that allows abortion on demand. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the request was approved, subject to coordination of the route <br />and arrangements by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Department Traffic Detail. <br />
