354 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Niles Janitorial.Service & Supply <br />Niles, Michigan <br />Bid - $28,000.00 <br />Servicemasters Building Services <br />Elkhart, Indiana <br />Bid - $23,986.92 <br />JANUARY 8, 1979 <br />Bid was signed by Kornel Borzsei, <br />non- collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a certified check was <br />submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Matthew N. <br />Hopman, non- collusion affidavit <br />was in order and a certified <br />check was submitted. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to John Stancati, Director of <br />Utilities, and Joseph Gawrysiak, Director, Department of Transporta- <br />tion, for review and recommendation. <br />BID AWARDED - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the sale of ninety - <br />six abandoned vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Rend Tribune and the Tri- County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />Falo Auto Parts <br />Route 1, Box 147 <br />Buchanan, Michigan <br />Bid - $42.40 per vehicle <br />South Bend Auto Parts <br />1819 S. Main Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid - $1875.00 <br />Bob Hundt and Son <br />Plymouth, Indiana <br />Bid - $24.10 per vehicle - $2058.20 <br />Bremen Iron & Metal Company <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid - $4,612.00 <br />Following a review of the bids, City Controller Peter H. Mullen <br />recommended that the Board accept the high bid of the Bremen <br />Iron and Petal Company of $4,612.00 for the abandoned vehicles. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board accepted the high bid of the Bremen Iron and <br />Metal Company and asked the Clerk to request removal of the <br />cars from the lot as.soon after payment is received as possible. <br />
