REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 8, 1979 353 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January. 8, 1979 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorney Terry.A. Crone was also present. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the January 2, 1979 meeting had been reviewed and he made a motion that the minutes be approved as submitted. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Mr. McMahon noted receipt of a letter from the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association following posting of the meeting agenda and he made a motion that the letter be added to the agenda. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. OPENING OF BIDS - CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION EQUIPMENT - POLICE DEPARTMENT This was the date set for receiving bids for Closed Circuit Television Phase III Equipment and for Mini Closed Circuit Television. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following aids were opened: Communications Systems, Inc. 1338 Mishawaka Avenue South Bend, Indiana Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone reviewed bids submitted by Communications Systems, Inc. on both items and advised the Board that no bid bonds or certified checkes were submitted with the bids as required in the specifications. He noted that the bids were not responsive to the bid request and recommended rejection. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board rejected the bids and authorized advertising for bids for both items. OPENING OF BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR MUNICIPAL SERVICES. FACILITY This was the date set for receiving bids for Janitorial Services for the Municipal Services Facility. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Associated Cleaning Services Bid was signed by Thomas E. Raffier, South Bend, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted with the bid. Bid - $24,842.40 Maintenance Systems, Inc. South Bend, Indiana Bid - $25,200.00 ABC Janitorial Services South Bend, Indiana Bid - $27,360.00 Bid was signed by Richard W. Johnson, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted. Bid was signed by Graham M. Henry, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted.
