REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 11, 1978 333 <br />no written comments were filed with the Board. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the public <br />hearing was closed and the information will be transmitted to the <br />City Controller and the Common Council along with the minutes of <br />this public hearing. <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT — CRIME VICTIM COUNSELING FOR THE ELDERLY <br />John Cimino, Director of the Criminal Justice Planning Bureau, <br />submitted to the Board a contract for the second year project <br />of Crime Victim Counseling for the Elderly through REAL Services. <br />The program has received second year funding in the amount of $12,200.00 <br />from federal funds, $678.89 from state funds and $678.89 from <br />the Police Department crime control fund, for a total of $13,577.78. <br />The project is the only one of its kind in the state and is highly <br />regarded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Planning Agency. Lester <br />Fox, Director of REAL Services, and Rosemary Bonadies, Crime Victim <br />Counsellor were present. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the contract was approved. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - CCTV FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Michael Borkowski submitted to the Board specifications for <br />a mini CCTV Evidentiary System and CCTV Phase III equipment and <br />requested that the Board authorize advertising for bids. Chief <br />Borkowski noted that Indiana Criminal Justice Planning Agency Grants <br />have been approved for the two bid projects and he requested that <br />bids be received on January 8. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the request <br />and directed the Clerk to advertise for bids, with sealed bids to <br />be received at the regular meeting on January 8. <br />BUREAU OF HOUSING CONTRACT FOR NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER APPROVED <br />James Harcus, Director of the Bureau of Housing, submitted to the <br />Board a letter stating that an additional appropriation has been secured <br />to complete the rehabilitation of the Northeast Neighborhood Center. <br />Exterior roofing must be repaired and interior water damage repairs <br />must be made. He has been advised by the HUD Program Management <br />Department that funds can be used without advertising for bids for <br />expenditures of $5,000 or less. A proposal has been submitted from <br />Andrew Troeger & Company for the roof repairs in the amount of <br />$3,974.00. Mr. Harcus requested that the Board approve a contract <br />for the repairs. Upon motion made by Mr.. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board approved the contract with Andrew <br />Troeger & Company in the amount of $3,974.00 for roof repairs to the <br />Northeast Neighborhood Center. <br />GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL BIDS ACCEPTED <br />John Lentz, City Auditor, submitted to the Board a recommendation <br />for the following bid acceptance for Gasoline and Fuel Oil for 1979: <br />Regular Gasoline - Amoco Oil Company - 44.71G per gallon <br />Leadfree Gasoline- Amoco Oil Company - 47.59 per gallon <br />Furnace Oil - Amoco Oil Company - 40.59( per gallon <br />#4 Diesel Fuel - Murphy Miles Div., Amoco Oil Company - 39.117 per gallon <br />The Board noted receipt of a letter from the Amoco Oil Company, <br />Detroit, Michigan advising that the midwest refinery for Amoco Oil <br />Company is located in Whiting, Indiana with distribution facilities <br />via pipeline terminal from Granger, Indiana. The letter was submitted <br />to clarify the Company's submission of a bid bond with their bid. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the letter from Amoco Oil Company was filed. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved <br />the recommendation to award the bid. <br />
