282 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 16, 1978 <br />FINAL CHANGE ORDER APPROVED - RIVERSIDE DRIVE - HOWARD IMPROVEMENTS <br />John E. Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />submitted to the Board the final change order in CD77 -602, Project <br />I, the 1978 curb improvements on Riverside Drive and Howard Street. <br />The Change Order increases the contract by $2,653.85 and is to adjust <br />the contract to as -built plans and for additional curb and <br />relocation of some sidewalk on Riverside Drive. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Change <br />Order was approved. <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT APPROVED - RIVERSIDE - HOWARD IMPROVEMENTS <br />The Project Completion Affidavit for CD77 -602, Project I, the <br />Riverside Drive - Howard Street Improvements, was submitted to the <br />Board. The contractor was Rieth Riley Construction Company and the <br />final project cost was $23,159.10. The Maintenance Bond for the <br />project was submitted along with the affidavit. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Completion <br />Affidavit was approved and the Maintenance Bond filed. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATION APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following street light <br />recommendations: <br />Remove - 30 lights on Miami, between Lincolnway East and Ewing <br />Remove - 1 light at intersecting alleys by Gospel Center <br />Missionary Church <br />Install 30 50,000L HPS OH CP on Miami, between Lincolnway East <br />and Ewing <br />1 7,000L MV OH WP at intersecting alleys by Gospel <br />Center Missionary Church <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED ON BRIARWAY <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported review with the Police <br />Department of a request to hold a block party on Briarway, between <br />Woodmont and Malvern Way, on Saturday, October 21 from 4:00 p.m. <br />to 10:00 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, October 22. Approval <br />is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the block party was approved. <br />TEMPORARY ALLEY CLOSING APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from St. James Cathedral.to close the <br />east -west alley adjacent to the church, running west from Lafayette <br />Boulevard, on Saturday, October 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />for a church festival. The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Department reviewed the request and recommend approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the closing was approved., <br />
