ltl <br />7 <br />283 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 16, 1978 <br />HOLIDAY PARADE APPROVED <br />Michele M. Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the <br />Board a favorable recommendation on the request of the Downtown <br />Council to hold the annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 18. <br />The route as submitted was approved by the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department, subject to coordination with <br />officials of Transpo for re- routing of buses during the parade. <br />The parade is to begin at 9:00 a.m. and disperse at 10:30. The <br />parade route will require the blocking of Taylor, William, Lafayette <br />and Main, from Washington to Wayne; Jefferson Street, from Taylor <br />to Service Court #5; and Service Court #k5. The Showmobile will <br />be parked on Jefferson Street, across from Broadcast Center, to be <br />used as a reviewing stand. Use of the city -owned lot at the <br />southeast corner of Michigan and Washington, from 8:30 a.m. to <br />11:00 a.m. was also requested. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved, <br />subject to coordination of all arrangements by the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following requests for approval <br />of traffic control devices: <br />A. On Stanfield, between Angela and Howard install 25 MPH <br />Speed Limit signs. <br />B. On Leeper Avenue, between Angela and North Shore, install <br />30 MPH Speed Limit signs. <br />C. Revise Yield Sign to Stop Sign on Brookmede at Woodmont, <br />because of poor site distance. <br />D. <br />Install No Parking Zone across from 1306 <br />S. High. This is <br />a narrow street and <br />the No Parking Zone <br />is needed because <br />of truck traffic. <br />E. <br />Install Stop Sign on <br />Danbury at Gotham, <br />a previously uncontrolled <br />"T" Intersection. <br />F. <br />Install Stop Sign on <br />Fremont at Rogers, <br />a previously uncontrolled <br />"T" intersection. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the <br />recommendations were <br />approved. <br />BOND APPROVED - RWNi CONSTRUCTION <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that <br />a Contractor's Bond for RWM Construction Company was properly executed <br />and could be approved by the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond was approved. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 19927 through 20362 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 19927 through 20362 and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />
