2'7 5 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 9', 1978 <br />TEMPORARY FOUR -WAY STOP AT ANGELA AND NORTH SHORE EXTENDED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski requested that the Board approve extension of <br />the temporary four -way stop at Angela and North Shore for the next <br />ninety days, during which time studies will be conducted to <br />evaluate its operation as opposed to the prior two -way stop. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved the recommendation. <br />ADOPTION OF GUIDELINES FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES <br />In accordance with the ordinance adopted by the Common Council <br />regarding parking spaces for the handicapped, Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted to the <br />Board the following proposed guidelines for handicapped parking spaces: <br />GUIDELINES FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES <br />(H.P.S. IS HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE) <br />I. RESIDENTIAL REQUESTS <br />A. Single Family Dwellings <br />1. A 25' H.P.S. will be signed at the curb adjoining <br />a residence of a permit holder which does not have <br />off - street parking (such as a driveway). <br />2. In the event the residence of a permit holder <br />curb space (or portion of said curb space which <br />would force the.encroachment of the H.P.S. to <br />curb space in front,.of adjoining, properties) is <br />zoned "No Parking ", consideration will be given <br />to the installation of the H.P.S. in front of the <br />adjoining property, provided a letter of approval <br />is submitted by the adjoining property owner /resident. <br />B. Multi- Family /Duplex <br />1. If person requesting permit is not the owner of <br />the property, approval from the property owner <br />reference the proposed restricted use of the <br />adjoining curb space is required. <br />2. In the event that the residence of a permit <br />holder curb space (or a portion of said curb <br />space would force encroachment of the H.P.S. to <br />curb space in front of adjoining properties) is <br />zoned "No Parking ", consideration may be given <br />to the installation of the H.P.S. in front of the <br />adjoining property, provided a letter of approval <br />is submitted by the adjoining property owner /resident. <br />3. A 25' H.P.S. will be signed at the curb adjoining <br />the residence of a permit holder which meets the <br />criteria of Items B, 1 and 2 above, and which <br />does not have off - street parking facilities (as a <br />driveway(s) or parking lot). <br />C. Apartment Buildings /Complexes <br />1. By Municipal Code, all apartment buildings /complexes <br />must have off - street parking at a minimum ratio of <br />one (1) space per dwelling unit. H.P.S. will not <br />be granted. Exceptions will be handled individually. <br />
