2'76 REGULAR MEETING I. COMMERCIAL REQUESTS OCTOBER 9, 1978 A. Spot and Strip Commercial With No Parking Lot 1. A 25' H.P.S. will.be. assigned at the curb in front of the permanent business. 2. Request must be made by the property owner. B. Spot and Strip Commercial with Off - Street Parking 1. Request will not be granted unless specifically -exempted by the Board of Public Works 2. Requests must be made by the property owner. C. Central Business District 1. 25' H.P.S.'s will be assigned to the Central businesses by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting through the Board of Public Works. 2. All individual requests by property owners/ tenants and /or permit holders will be reviewed by the Board on an individual basis. III. H.P.S.'s shall be subject to all parking limits, regulations and other legally imposed restrictions. Upon motion made by Mr.. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the guidelines were adopted. REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED PARKING SPACE DENIED The request of Woody Maxie for a designated parking space.on Wayne Street, east of Main Street,was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review. Mr. Wadzinski reported to the Board that this request for designated parking space for employment was not within the guidelines for such spaces. Handicapped parking spaces in the downtown would be open to any holders of handicapped parking Permits or special vehicle plates and would be subject to the existing parking time limits in the block. Mr. Wadzinski noted there would be designated handicapped parking spaces in the central business district which would be available to all handicapped persons. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board filed the report and denied the request of Woody Maxie for a designated parking space for his employment. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 19374 through 19926 and recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 19374 through 19926 and directed that checks for payment be issued. JOHN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL BAND PARADE APPROVED The Board received a request from the John Adams High School Band to hold a parade on Friday, October 13 beginning at the high school at 6:30 p.m, and marching to School Field. The Police Department Traffic Detail and Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reviewed the route submitted and recommends - approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request, subject to filing of a Certificate of Insurance. rl
