2'76 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />I. COMMERCIAL REQUESTS <br />OCTOBER 9, 1978 <br />A. Spot and Strip Commercial With No Parking Lot <br />1. A 25' H.P.S. will.be. assigned at the curb <br />in front of the permanent business. <br />2. Request must be made by the property owner. <br />B. Spot and Strip Commercial with Off - Street Parking <br />1. Request will not be granted unless specifically <br />-exempted by the Board of Public Works <br />2. Requests must be made by the property owner. <br />C. Central Business District <br />1. 25' H.P.S.'s will be assigned to the Central <br />businesses by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />through the Board of Public Works. <br />2. All individual requests by property owners/ <br />tenants and /or permit holders will be reviewed <br />by the Board on an individual basis. <br />III. H.P.S.'s shall be subject to all parking limits, <br />regulations and other legally imposed restrictions. <br />Upon motion made by Mr.. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the guidelines were adopted. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED PARKING SPACE DENIED <br />The request of Woody Maxie for a designated parking space.on Wayne <br />Street, east of Main Street,was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting for review. Mr. Wadzinski reported to the Board that <br />this request for designated parking space for employment was not <br />within the guidelines for such spaces. Handicapped parking spaces <br />in the downtown would be open to any holders of handicapped parking <br />Permits or special vehicle plates and would be subject to the <br />existing parking time limits in the block. Mr. Wadzinski noted <br />there would be designated handicapped parking spaces in the central <br />business district which would be available to all handicapped <br />persons. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Board filed the report and denied the request of <br />Woody Maxie for a designated parking space for his employment. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 19374 through 19926 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 19374 through 19926 <br />and directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />JOHN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL BAND PARADE APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from the John Adams High School Band <br />to hold a parade on Friday, October 13 beginning at the high school <br />at 6:30 p.m, and marching to School Field. The Police Department <br />Traffic Detail and Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reviewed the <br />route submitted and recommends - approval. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved <br />the request, subject to filing of a Certificate of Insurance. <br />rl <br />
