274 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 9, 1978 <br />TITLE SHEET SIGNED - CURB AND SIDEWALK PROJECT CD78 -3 <br />The Title Sheet approving the plans for curb, sidewalk and street <br />improvements on Werwinski Street, from College to Brookfield, <br />was submitted to the Board. Bids for the project.are being sought. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the title sheet approving the plans was signed. <br />TITLE SHEET APPROVED - CURB AND SIDEWALK PROJECT CD78 -4 <br />The Title Sheet approving the plans for curb, sidewalk and street <br />improvements on Diamond Avenue, Broadway, Howard, St. Louis and <br />St. Peter Streets was submitted to the Board. Bids for the project <br />are being sought. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the title sheet approving the plans was <br />signed. <br />TITLE SHEET APPROVED - HIGH STREET AND BOWEN DRIVE EXTENSION <br />The Title Sheet approving the plans for the High Street and Bowen <br />Drive Extension was submitted to the Board. This is a private <br />development and the developer is Dr. Robert Allen. The work will <br />be done according to City specifications. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the title sheet <br />approving the plans was signed. <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT APPROVED - SALE OF 51142 REDWOOD ROAD <br />A purchase agreement between the City of South Bend and Dennis <br />Maike and Karen Beckwith was submitted to the Board. The agreement <br />was prepared by Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone in accordance <br />with the bid accepted by the Board in the amount of $24,700.00. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board approved the purchase agreement and referred -it <br />to the Legal Department for preparation of the deed and final <br />closing. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTS FILED <br />Residents of Southeast Estates submitted a petition signed by <br />property owners requesting the installation of street lights on <br />Provincial Drive and indicating that there would be no objection <br />by any of the signers of the petition to placement of the street <br />light on their property. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was referred to <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED LOT AT 202 PENNSYLVANIA FILED <br />The Board received a request from Sena Bobbitt for information <br />regarding possible purchase of a city -owned lot at 202 Pennsylvania.. <br />Upon motion made by-Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the request was referred to City departments for review and a <br />determination as to whether the lot should be retained for any <br />purpose. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended the following <br />change in a traffic control device: Revise No Parking to 30 Minute <br />Parking at times listed on the north side of Bendix, 120' west <br />of Goodland. The request was made by the Bendix Corporation. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />1 <br />
