G <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />TITLE SHEET APPROVED - KENSINGTON FARMS FINAL <br />SEPTEMBER 5, 1978 <br />A title sheet approving the plans for Kensington Farms Final was <br />submitted to the Board. Mr. McMahon explained to the Board that <br />this is in the area of the northwest corner of Ironwood and Kern <br />and is a private project. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the title sheet was approved. <br />CONTRACT APPROVED - FENCE AROUND MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY <br />Mr. McMahon submitted to the Board a contract with Morse Electric <br />Company for the construction of a fence around the Municipal <br />Services Facility. The contract is in the amount of $13,362.50. <br />Mr. McMahon explained that Morse Electric Company was the low <br />bidder. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the contract was approved. <br />REQUEST FOUR -WAY STOP SIGNS - HURON & CARLISLE, MEADE & FORD <br />The Board received a letter from Councilman Walter Kopczynski <br />stating that he has made various requests for four -way stop <br />signs at Huron and Carlisle and Meade and Ford, both of which <br />were turned down. Councilman Kopczynski is again requesting the <br />stop signs. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the-re quest be <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and <br />recommendation. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />REQUEST FOR TENT - BEARINGS SERVICE COMPANY <br />The Board received a request from Bearings Service Company to set <br />up a tent in their east parking lot on September 13 and 14 for an <br />open house they are having for their customers. Mr. McMahon moved <br />that the tent be approved, subject to the approval of the Fire <br />Department and the Building Department. Mr. Mullen seconded <br />the motion and it carried. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board a recommendation that a stop sign be <br />installed on the northwest and southeast corners of Beverly Place <br />and Oakwood Boulevard. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the stop <br />sign be installed. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - 900 BLOCK VASSAR <br />The residents of the 900 block Vassar, between Woodward and <br />Riverside requested permission to hold a block party on Sunday, <br />September 10 from 12 noon until midnight and to close their block <br />to traffic. Joseph Pluta, assistant manager of the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting, reported that he had reviewed the request <br />and approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the block party was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - CREST AVENUE <br />The residents of Crest Avenue, between Altgeld and Southeast, <br />requested permission to hold a block party on Saturday, September <br />9 from 10:00 a.m. until midnight and to close their block to <br />traffic. Joseph Pluta, assistant manager of the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, reported that he had reviewed the request and approval <br />is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the block party was approved. <br />
