E l REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 5, 1978 Domtar Industries, Inc. Schiller Park, Illinois - Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone, advised the Board that a bid bond instead of a certified check, as required in the specifications, was submitted. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the bid be rejected. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. Morton Salt Company Bid was signed by David B. Chicago, Illinois Nilson, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified I check was submitted. Bid - $16.85 per ton - Total $168,500.00 International Salt Company Bid was signed by Barbara A. Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania Henshaw, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted. Bid — $21.60 - Total $216,000.00 Liquid Calcium Chloride Orbie of Illiana, Inc. Bid was signed by Ed Otten, Crawfordsville, Indiana non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $.23 per gallon - Total $23,000.00 Bay Dust Control, Inc. Bid was signed by Melvin J. Bay City, Michigan Gerard, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted. Bid - $.194 per gallon - Total $19,400.00 Calcium Chloride Sand Mixture The Levy Company Bid was signed by Richard D. Chesterton, Indiana Marrese, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check was submitted. Bid - $8.75 per ton - Total $21,875.00 Medusa Aggregates Company Bid was signed by G. A. Remaly, Lafayette, Indiana non- collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $8.90 per ton - Total $22,250,00 Additional charge of $1.50 per ton for delivery to Sample Street Yard. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the bid for rock salt be awarded to Morton Salt Company, the bid for liquid calcium chloride be awarded to Bay Dust Control, Inc. and the bid for calcium chloride sand mixture be awarded to The Levy Company, subject to funding. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. 0 BID AWARDED - SALE OF 51142 REDWOOD ROAD James R. Seitz, Park Superintendent, reported to the Board that he had reviewed the bids received for the sale of city -owned property at 51142 Redwood Road. He recommended that the high bid of Dennis Maike, Osceola, Indiana, of $24,700.00 be accepted. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the high bid of Dennis Maike of $24,700.00 for the purchase of 51142 Redwood Road be awarded. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried.
