REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 7, 1978 213 <br />REQUEST TO USE CLAY UTILITIES PROPERTY IN CARRIAGE HILLS RECEIVED <br />Larry Carlson, 17923 Tally Ho Drive, requested that the Board <br />approve the use of Clay. Utilities property in the Carriage <br />Hills Addition for a neighborhood picnic on September 16 from <br />noon until dusk. The group has used the property in the past <br />and would like approval for this annual event. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request <br />was referred to the Legal Department to obtain a legal description <br />of the property involved and to make a recommendation. <br />BID WITHDRAWN FOR 1974 MATADOR <br />Ronald Hodgson who was awarded the sale of a 1974 Matador last <br />week has requested permission to withdraw his bid on the basis <br />that the car he was.awarded was not the car he thought he was bidding <br />on. Mr. McMahon noted that the Board did receive a bid from <br />Minder Auto Sales on this vehicle and he recommended that Mr: Hodgson <br />be allowed to withdraw his bid and the vehicle be offered to Minder <br />Auto Sales. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the bid of Ronald Hodgson was withdrawn and the bid <br />of Minder Auto Sales for Vehicle #5, a 1974 Matador, at a bid of <br />$50.00 was accepted. <br />STREET LIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED <br />Joseph J. Pluta, Assistant Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following street light <br />recommendations: <br />Remove: Hamilton Court 7,000L MV UG CP $8.26/mo. <br />Install: Hamilton Street, 7,000L DIV OH WP $4.80 /mo. <br />between Johnson & O'Brien <br />Total Decrease $3.49/mo. <br />Mr. Pluta advised the Board that the Hamilton Court light was <br />approved by the Board in June, 1977. When-the Indiana & Michigan <br />Electric Company went to install the light, none of the residents <br />would give the easement for the cable and no one agreed to allow <br />the street light pole to be placed in front-of their house. <br />Therefore, the order has been cancelled. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the recommendation was approved. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board the following recommendation for traffic <br />control devices: <br />A. <br />Revise <br />Yield Sign <br />to Stop Sign, <br />on Churchill at Campeau <br />B. <br />Revise <br />Yield Sign <br />to _Stop Sign, <br />on Oakridge at Campeau <br />C. <br />Install <br />Temporary <br />3 -Way Stop Sign at Charles and Rosemary <br />D* <br />Install <br />Stop Sign <br />on Good Place <br />at Culver Place <br />E. <br />Install <br />No Parking <br />Signs on the <br />west one -half of the north <br />side of <br />4000 W. Sample <br />Street. <br />Upon motion made by Mr.. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the recommendations were approved. <br />
