20 <br />REGULAR 14EETING <br />JULY 31, 1978 <br />APPROVAL OF ADVERTISING FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED REAL ESTATE <br />Mr. McMahon reported that the Common Council has approved the <br />sale of a parcel of land owned by the Park Department which <br />has determined that the property is not needed and can be disposed <br />of. The property, which includes a house, has now been appraised <br />and can be offered for sale. The property is located at <br />51142 Redwood Road, near Elbel Golf Course, and the offering <br />price for the property is $18,780.00. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board <br />approved advertising for sealed bids for the sale of the property, <br />with bids to be received on August 28, 1978. <br />REQUESTS FOR BLOCK PARTIES RECEIVED <br />The Board received the following requests for Block Parties: <br />A. Allen Street, between Vassar and California, on August 12, 1978 <br />from noon to dusk. Requested by Joseph Gatto <br />B. St. Louis Boulevard from 1001 to the alley at 1018, from <br />6:00 p.m. until midnight on August 26. Requested by <br />LuElla Morrow <br />C. 1500 Block Taylor, from Indiana Avenue to the alley at <br />1520 S. Taylor, from 1:00 p.m. until midnight on August 19. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the requests were referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REPORT ON REQUEST TO PURCHASE PROPERTY ON CHAPIN ST. NORTH OF WESTERN <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, submitted a recommendation <br />to the Board regarding the review of the request of Peter F. Nemeth <br />to purchase properties on the east side of Chapin Street, north <br />of Western Avenue. Following review of the request with the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, Mr. Andrysiak recommended that the City <br />not sell any of the parcels of land in question until a final <br />design for all turns and street widening for the Chapin /Western <br />Improvement have been approved. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board filed the recommendation <br />and directed that Mr. Nemeth be advised that the City does not plan <br />to sell the lots at this time. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 14254 through 14695 and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved Claim Docket Numbers 14254 through 14695 and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATIONS APPROVED <br />Mikki Dobski, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted the following <br />applications along with her favorable recommendation: <br />A. Additional Sidewalk Days Merchants who provided insurance <br />certificates and vendor's licenses for July 28 and 29 - <br />Aktive Vacuum Cleaners and White Elephant Shop <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the applications were approved. <br />
