206 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 31, 1978 <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL FOR 4 -H FAIR APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of- Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended the following temporary traffic controls for the <br />4 -H Fair: <br />1. On York Road, from Provincial to Renfrew, no parking both <br />sides of the street. <br />2. On Jackson Road, from Ironwood to York, no parking both <br />sides of the street. <br />3. On Renfrew, from its east cul -de -sac to York Road, no parking <br />on the south side of the street. <br />4. On Thornhill, Heather and Kirkshire, no parking on the <br />ease side from York Road northerly for a distance of <br />approximately 3001. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTIES APPROVED - HOLLYWOOD PLACE AND WALL STREET <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that Block Party requests had been reviewed <br />with the Police Department for the following locations: <br />A. Hollywood Place, from Edgewood Drive to Eastbrook Drive, <br />on Saturday, August 5 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. <br />B. 1300 -1400 Block Wall Street on Saturday, August 26 from <br />4:00 p.m. until midnight. <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Block Parties were approved. <br />PARKING FOR POTPOURRI ART FAIR APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that he had reviewed the request of the <br />Potpourri to allow parking on both sides of Lincolnway East, from <br />Miami to Twyckenham, on Saturday August 5 and Sunday, August 6 <br />for the Annual Art Fair. He noted that he had confirmed Indiana <br />State Highway Commission approval of the parking and, in <br />concurrence with the Police Department, recommends Board approval. <br />It was suggested that. the Potpourri make every attempt to <br />prevent blocking of private driveways in the area by patrons <br />of the Art Fair. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT MINI- MARATHON APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported to the Board that <br />the request of the Recreation Department to hold a Mini- Marathon <br />on Saturday, August 5 beginning at Rum Village Woods had been <br />reviewed with the Police Department. Approval is recommended <br />for the portion of the route which is within the City limits. <br />The temporary closing of Gertrude Street, from Ireland to Ewing, <br />was approved at the discretion.,of the`Police Department. It was <br />suggested that the Recreation Department contact'the''`Civil Defense <br />Police to assist in traffic control. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the mini- Marathon <br />was approved. <br />
