206 REGULAR MEETING JULY 31, 1978 TRAFFIC CONTROL FOR 4 -H FAIR APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of- Traffic and Lighting, recommended the following temporary traffic controls for the 4 -H Fair: 1. On York Road, from Provincial to Renfrew, no parking both sides of the street. 2. On Jackson Road, from Ironwood to York, no parking both sides of the street. 3. On Renfrew, from its east cul -de -sac to York Road, no parking on the south side of the street. 4. On Thornhill, Heather and Kirkshire, no parking on the ease side from York Road northerly for a distance of approximately 3001. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. BLOCK PARTIES APPROVED - HOLLYWOOD PLACE AND WALL STREET Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported to the Board that Block Party requests had been reviewed with the Police Department for the following locations: A. Hollywood Place, from Edgewood Drive to Eastbrook Drive, on Saturday, August 5 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. B. 1300 -1400 Block Wall Street on Saturday, August 26 from 4:00 p.m. until midnight. The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Block Parties were approved. PARKING FOR POTPOURRI ART FAIR APPROVED Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported to the Board that he had reviewed the request of the Potpourri to allow parking on both sides of Lincolnway East, from Miami to Twyckenham, on Saturday August 5 and Sunday, August 6 for the Annual Art Fair. He noted that he had confirmed Indiana State Highway Commission approval of the parking and, in concurrence with the Police Department, recommends Board approval. It was suggested that. the Potpourri make every attempt to prevent blocking of private driveways in the area by patrons of the Art Fair. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. RECREATION DEPARTMENT MINI- MARATHON APPROVED The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported to the Board that the request of the Recreation Department to hold a Mini- Marathon on Saturday, August 5 beginning at Rum Village Woods had been reviewed with the Police Department. Approval is recommended for the portion of the route which is within the City limits. The temporary closing of Gertrude Street, from Ireland to Ewing, was approved at the discretion.,of the`Police Department. It was suggested that the Recreation Department contact'the''`Civil Defense Police to assist in traffic control. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the mini- Marathon was approved.
