200 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 24, 1978 <br />REQUEST TO ALLOW PARKING ON L.W.E. FOR POTPOURRI ART FAIR APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from Marie deM. Leddy to allow <br />parking on Lincolnway East, from Miami to Twyckenham on Saturday <br />and Sunday, August 5 and 6 for the 11th Annual Art Fair. Mrs. <br />Leddy indicated that the.Indiana State Highway Commission has <br />given permission for the on- street parking. Mr. McMahon noted <br />that this is an annual request for parking for the Fair. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved the request, subject to the concurrence of <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Detail. <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES APPROVED <br />Ted Latkowski, Director of Environmental Control, advised the <br />Board that there are approximately 180 abandoned vehicles which have <br />been towed to the City lot at the Olive Street Pumping Station. <br />He asked that the Board authorize advertising for the sale by lot <br />bid of the vehicles. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request and <br />authorized advertising for sealed bids for the abandoned vehicles. <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF RIVERSIDE DRIVE RIGHT -OF -WAY <br />Ted W. Mielke files a petition to vacate that portion of Riverside <br />Drive from the northerly property line of Lot 64, Pinhook Manor <br />Addition, to the curb on Riverside Drive. Mr. McMahon noted that <br />this petition comes as a result of the construction of the new <br />portion of Riverside Drive. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the petition was filed and <br />referred to the Engineering Department for preliminary review and <br />a Utility Check and to the Area Plan Commission for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY ON WALL STREET FILED <br />Pamela DeCola requested permission to <br />of Wall Street on August 26 from 4:00 <br />block party. Wadzinski reported to the Board that the request of <br />Hansel Center to install No Parking Bus Zones in front of Day Care <br />Centers at 1024 Thomas Street and 2200 Linden Avenue, Monday <br />through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m, and from 2:00 p.m. <br />until 5:00 p.m., had been reviewed and approval was recommended. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />REPORT ON REQUEST FOR PARKING SPACES FOR COUNTY POLICE TABLED <br />The Board received a report from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting on the request received from the County Police for <br />designated parking spaces on Main Street. The report noted that <br />there are three spaces on the West Side of Main Street, north <br />of the County -City Building drive and two spaces south of the <br />drive to a point north of the entrance to the First Bank & Trust <br />Company. The Bureau recommended that the Board consider only <br />these five spaces in regard to the request. Mr,-Brunner made a <br />motion to table the recommendation for one week for further review. <br />Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />[1 <br />
