196 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 17, 1978 <br />Item 5. This bureau will verify traffic counts in the <br />area of Pulaski and Huron Streets during the <br />week of July 17, 1978. Its findings, if out <br />of the ordinary to those indicated above, will <br />be reported to the Board. <br />Item 6. The existing signage on Pulaski will be replaced <br />with new high intensity signage, thereby <br />increasing its visibility especially during the <br />hours of darkness. This new signage will be <br />supplemented by painted stop bars. In the event <br />the Board approves a multi -way stop at this <br />intersection, all of the stop signs will be of the <br />high intensity sheeting. <br />Based on the above information, please inform this Bureau <br />as to the action taken by the Board so that its orders may <br />be carried out as soon as possible. <br />s / Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager <br />Mr. McMahon made a motion to deny the request for a stop sign. <br />Mr. Brunner requested an opportunity to review the report of the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Mr. McMahon then made a motion <br />to table the report until next Monday and refer it to the Legal <br />Department for review. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />CLOSING OF ALLEYS ADJACENT TO WILLIAM PENN CLUB APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported the request of the <br />William Penn Club to close the alleys adjacent to their Clubrooms <br />at 1024 W. Indiana Avenue on Saturday, July 29 from 12 :00 noon until <br />10:00 p.m. had been reviewed with the Police Department and <br />approval is recommended. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />TENT SERVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported review of the request <br />of the Grace Brethren Church at 1701 E. Ireland Road to conduct <br />tent services on church property from July 30 to August 13. In <br />concurrence with the Police Department, the Bureau foresees no <br />problems with traffic and parking and approval was recommended. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the request was approved, subject to the securing of the <br />necessary permit from the Building Department, an inspection of <br />the tent by the Fire Inspection Bureau and the stipulation that <br />any signs posted in the area be directed away from motorists. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period July 3 through July 12 <br />was submitted to the Board. The report indicated thirty -seven <br />outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />BOND APPROVED <br />I <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, submitted to the Board <br />a Contractor's Bond for Joseph Holobyn, Sr. and noted that the <br />bond was properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bond was <br />approved. <br />
