1.16 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 15,1978 <br />BID ACCEPTED AND CONTRACT SIGNED - NORTH IRONWOOD DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS <br />A tabulation of bids received on the North Ironwood Drive Improvements <br />was submitted to the Board from the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />along with a recommendation that the low bid of the Arco Engineering <br />Construction Company of $598,002.85 be accepted. The contract and <br />performance bond were submitted along with the tabulation. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the low bid of the Arco Engineering Construction Company for the <br />North Ironwood Drive Improvements was accented and the contract <br />was signed. The performance bond was accepted by the Board. <br />BID ACCEPTED - MUSEUM LIGHTING, CENTURY CENTER <br />Richard Welch, Director, Discovery Hall Museum, advised the Board <br />that he had reviewed the bids received for museum lighting for <br />Discovery Hall Museum and he recommended acceptance of the low bid <br />of Colip Electric Company in the amount of $21,404.00. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved and the bid of Colip Electric Company <br />was accepted. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - TWO STREET SWEEPERS <br />John Stancati, Director of Utilities, submitted to the Board <br />detailed specifications for two vacuum street and highway sweepers <br />and requested permission to advertise for bids. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board <br />approved the request and directed the Clerk to advertise for bids <br />with sealed bids to be received on May 30, 1978, at 9:30 a.m. <br />FILING OF PROPOSED EASEMENT AND RIGHT -OF -WAY AGREEMENT <br />A proposed form of easement and right -of -way for property at the <br />location of Fairington Apartments, Miami and Jackson Roads, was <br />submitted to the Board. Mr. McMahon reported that the agreement <br />has been prepared by Gene'B. Glick Company, Inc., Developer. <br />They have an option to purchase the property for the development, <br />with closing to occur in approximately two weeks. The Company <br />agrees, in the cover letter submitted with the easement form, that <br />upon final project approval by the Board.and the issuance of <br />building permits, the easement and right -of -way will be executed <br />and submitted to the Board for acceptance. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board filed <br />the documents, pending closing of the property purchase and <br />execution of the easement agreement. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET SERVICES <br />Missionary Dora Lottie requested permission to conduct religious <br />street services at the corner of Washington and Walnut Streets, <br />during the month of June, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from <br />3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />BID ACCEPTED - TRUCKS FOR BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that he had reviewed the bids received for <br />three 3/4 ton trucks and he recommended that the low bid of Harold <br />Medow, Inc. of $15,914.61 be accepted. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation <br />was accepted and the bid of Harold Medow, Inc. was accepted. <br />1 <br />
