1.16 REGULAR MEETING MAY 15,1978 BID ACCEPTED AND CONTRACT SIGNED - NORTH IRONWOOD DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS A tabulation of bids received on the North Ironwood Drive Improvements was submitted to the Board from the Bureau of Public Construction, along with a recommendation that the low bid of the Arco Engineering Construction Company of $598,002.85 be accepted. The contract and performance bond were submitted along with the tabulation. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the low bid of the Arco Engineering Construction Company for the North Ironwood Drive Improvements was accented and the contract was signed. The performance bond was accepted by the Board. BID ACCEPTED - MUSEUM LIGHTING, CENTURY CENTER Richard Welch, Director, Discovery Hall Museum, advised the Board that he had reviewed the bids received for museum lighting for Discovery Hall Museum and he recommended acceptance of the low bid of Colip Electric Company in the amount of $21,404.00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved and the bid of Colip Electric Company was accepted. BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - TWO STREET SWEEPERS John Stancati, Director of Utilities, submitted to the Board detailed specifications for two vacuum street and highway sweepers and requested permission to advertise for bids. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request and directed the Clerk to advertise for bids with sealed bids to be received on May 30, 1978, at 9:30 a.m. FILING OF PROPOSED EASEMENT AND RIGHT -OF -WAY AGREEMENT A proposed form of easement and right -of -way for property at the location of Fairington Apartments, Miami and Jackson Roads, was submitted to the Board. Mr. McMahon reported that the agreement has been prepared by Gene'B. Glick Company, Inc., Developer. They have an option to purchase the property for the development, with closing to occur in approximately two weeks. The Company agrees, in the cover letter submitted with the easement form, that upon final project approval by the Board.and the issuance of building permits, the easement and right -of -way will be executed and submitted to the Board for acceptance. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board filed the documents, pending closing of the property purchase and execution of the easement agreement. REQUEST FOR STREET SERVICES Missionary Dora Lottie requested permission to conduct religious street services at the corner of Washington and Walnut Streets, during the month of June, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department for review and recommendation. BID ACCEPTED - TRUCKS FOR BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported to the Board that he had reviewed the bids received for three 3/4 ton trucks and he recommended that the low bid of Harold Medow, Inc. of $15,914.61 be accepted. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid of Harold Medow, Inc. was accepted. 1
