A REGULAR MEETING AGENDA ITEM ADDED MAY 15, 1978 Mr. McMahon noted that the Board received a parade request from the West Side Veteran's Memorial Committee after the meeting agenda was posted. He made a motion that the Board add the item to today's agenda. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. APPROVAL OF SUB -GRANT AGREEMENT WITH SCHOOL CORPORATION Thomas Becker, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Employment and Training, submitted to the Board a subgrant agreement between the City and the Community School Corporation. The agreement is in the amount of $35,994 for the period April 5, 1978 through August 31, 1978 and is to provide reading and math assistance for fourteen to sixteen - year -old summer program participants. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the subgrant was approved. FILING OF REPORTS AND ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3458 The Division of Engineering reported to the Board that the petition of Thomas and Kathleen Hermann to vacate the east -west alley running 115.5 feet from Eddy Street to Parry Street had been reviewed and they have no objection to the vacation, subject to existing utility easements. The Board also received a report from the Area Plan Commission Staff advising that they have reviewed the petition and recommend it favorably to the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the reports were filed and the Board adopted the following resolution: VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3458 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: the east -west alley running 115.5 feet east and west and 14 feet north and south from Eddy Street to Parry Street, more particularly described as the alley between Lot 13, Parry;s 2nd Addition (501 S. Eddy) and Lot 12, Parry's 2nd Addition (435 S. Eddy) Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless such rights are released by the individual utilities. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lot 12, Parry's lst Addition and Lot 13, Parry's 2nd Addition Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 19th and 26th day of May, 1978 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri- County News.
