A <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />MAY 15, 1978 <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the Board received a parade request <br />from the West Side Veteran's Memorial Committee after the <br />meeting agenda was posted. He made a motion that the Board <br />add the item to today's agenda. Mr. Brunner seconded the <br />motion and it carried. <br />APPROVAL OF SUB -GRANT AGREEMENT WITH SCHOOL CORPORATION <br />Thomas Becker, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Employment <br />and Training, submitted to the Board a subgrant agreement between <br />the City and the Community School Corporation. The agreement is <br />in the amount of $35,994 for the period April 5, 1978 through <br />August 31, 1978 and is to provide reading and math assistance for <br />fourteen to sixteen - year -old summer program participants. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the subgrant was approved. <br />FILING OF REPORTS AND ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3458 <br />The Division of Engineering reported to the Board that the petition <br />of Thomas and Kathleen Hermann to vacate the east -west alley <br />running 115.5 feet from Eddy Street to Parry Street had been <br />reviewed and they have no objection to the vacation, subject to <br />existing utility easements. The Board also received a report from <br />the Area Plan Commission Staff advising that they have reviewed <br />the petition and recommend it favorably to the Board. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the reports were filed and the Board adopted the following <br />resolution: <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3458 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />the east -west alley running 115.5 feet east and west <br />and 14 feet north and south from Eddy Street to Parry <br />Street, more particularly described as the alley between <br />Lot 13, Parry;s 2nd Addition (501 S. Eddy) and Lot 12, <br />Parry's 2nd Addition (435 S. Eddy) <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the <br />Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain <br />any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: <br />electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control <br />structures and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless <br />such rights are released by the individual utilities. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: <br />Lot 12, Parry's lst Addition and Lot 13, Parry's 2nd Addition <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 19th and <br />26th day of May, 1978 in the South Bend Tribune and in the <br />Tri- County News. <br />This Board, at its office, on <br />9:30 o'clock, A.M., will hear <br />persons interested in or affe <br />Adopted this 15th day of May, <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />the 5th day of June, 1978 at <br />and receive remonstrances from all <br />:�ted by these proceedings. <br />1978. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Patrick M.
