REGULAR 14EETING <br />A regular meeting of the Board of <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 1978 <br />with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner <br />Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES.OF MAY 8 MEETING APPROVED <br />MAY 15, 1978 <br />Public Works was convened at <br />by President Patrick M. McMahon, <br />present. Deputy City Attorney <br />Mr. McMahon reported that the minutes of the May 8, 1978 meeting <br />had been reviewed and he made a motion to approve the minutes as <br />submitted. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - POLICE DEPARTMENT RADIO EQUIPMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for Police Department Radio <br />Equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to <br />be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />R.C.A. Bid was signed by Harry Lasswell, <br />non- collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - Unit price for radios in <br />Standard Desk Chargers - $36.00 <br />Standard Battery Charger - Unit <br />Transceiver - $1,653.60 <br />Control Console - $192.00 <br />Meade Electric Co. <br />quantities of 20 to 120 - $966.00 <br />Price- $666.00 <br />Bid was signed by Robert Magnetti,* <br />non - collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - 120 portable radios - Unit Price - $1,190.00 <br />Back Cover with Swivel and Belt Loop - Unit Price - $24.50 <br />Standard Desk Charger - Unit Price $46.00 <br />Rack Charger - Unit Price - $750.00 <br />Battery Recycle Unit - No Bid <br />Base Station - $1,900.00 <br />Motorola, Inc. Bid was signed by Richard Riviere, <br />non- collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - 120 portable radios - Unit Price- $865.58 <br />back covers - Unit Price - $28.90 <br />Charger - Unit Price - $48,60 <br />Rack Charger - Unit Price - $319.20 <br />Battery Recycle Unit - $1,393.00 <br />MICOR COMPA - STATION -- $1,922.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bids were referred to the Police Department and Bureau of <br />Communications for review and recommendation. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - REVENUE SHARING APPROPRIATION REQUEST <br />This was the date set for holding a public hearing on a revenue <br />sharing appropriation request for $175,000.00 for the Parking Garage <br />Refinancing. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in <br />the South Bend*Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to <br />be sufficient. In'�accordance with the guidelines established for such <br />revenue. sharing requests, information about this public hearing was <br />forwarded to the following senior citizen groups with the request that <br />the notice be published for the members: Foster Grandparents, Hansel <br />Neighborhood Center, Harvest House Centers, Howard Park Senior Citizens' <br />Center, R.E.A.L. Services, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and <br />Senior Citizens' Group of LaSalle Park. There were no citizens present <br />to speak on the matter and no written comments were with the Board. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the public hearing was closed and the information will be transmitted <br />to the Common Council along with the minutes of this public hearing. <br />LJ <br />
