ELI <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 19. 1980 <br />ASSIGNMENT OF VEHICLE NUMBERS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />Vehicle No. 50 was assigned to the 1974 Plymouth Valiant recently <br />purchased by the Building Department. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />Vehicle No. 611 was assigned to the 1975 Plymouth Duster recently <br />purchased by the Substandard Building Department. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the following Vehicle Numbers were assigned to the <br />recently purchases six 1980 Ford Fairmont Detective vehicles: <br />Serial <br />Serial <br />Serial <br />Serial <br />Serial <br />Serial <br />No <br />No. <br />No. <br />No. <br />No. <br />No. <br />OE91A164985 <br />OE91A164987 <br />OE91A164988 <br />OE91A164990 <br />OE91A164989 <br />OE91A164986 <br />Vehicle No. 692 <br />Vehicle No. 693 <br />Vehicle No. 694 <br />Vehicle No. 695 <br />Vehicle No. 696 <br />Vehicle No. 697 <br />APPROVAL OF OPEN AIR STAND - 1"101 SOUTH BEND AVENUE <br />The application of the Great American Hot Dog Stand, 1101 South <br />Bend Avenue, was considered by the Board. The application had <br />previously been referred to the Legal Department for review. <br />At the April 28, 1980, meeting of the Board, a policy had been <br />established concerning open air stands in the City of South Bend. <br />In accordance with that policy, the application had been referred <br />to the Health Department and the Environmental Protection Office <br />for review and recommendation. Inspector George Crofoot of the <br />Health. Department recommended approval and suggested that the <br />trash containers be covered. The Environmental Office reported <br />that they have never experienced a problem with.litter and trash <br />from the Hot Dog Stand. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the application for an open air stand <br />license for 1980 was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />Office for issuance. <br />APPROVE MARTIAL ARTS DEMONSTRATION- RIVER "BEND PLAZA <br />The Martial Arts Club was requesting the use of Robertson's Stage <br />on May 24, 1980, from 12 :00 noon to 2:00 p.m., for a martial arts <br />demonstration to be held in conjunction with the Shriner's Children's <br />Parade. It was noted that the club has obtained releases from all <br />participants in the event of any injuries that may occur during the <br />demonstration. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE SALE OF POPCORN ON RIVER BEND PLAZA - OUR LADY <br />OF HUNGARY YOUTH GROUP <br />The Downtown Council of the Chamber of Commerce requested permission <br />for the Our Lady of Hungary Youth Group to sell popcorn on River <br />Bend Plaza on May 24, 1980, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., in <br />conjunction with the Shriner's Children's Parade. It was noted <br />that trash barrels would be provided. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />McMaoon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved <br />subject to the filing of the appropriate Certificate of Insurance. <br />irl <br />u <br />1 <br />
