REGULAR MEETING MAY 5, 1980 APPROVE CLOSING OF ALLEY - ST. STEPHEN'S °HISPANIC USHER'S CLUB A request from the St. Stephen's Hispanic Usher's Club was received for the closing of the alley behind the homes on the east side of 400 South Walnut for their annual Mother's Day celebration activities at Pulaski Park on May 11, 1980. _ It was noted that Park Department approval had been granted for use of the park for the festivities. A recommendation approving the closing of the alley was received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request to close the alley for the celebration was approved. APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended approval of the following traffic control device INSTALL STOP SIGN- On Bowman at Leer. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the traffic control device was approved. APPROVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS A request from the Environmental /Action Center was received for permission to have city environmental crews clean the following lots within the city: 326 S. Dundee 210 N. Brookfield 2502 . Pola.nd 3806 Belle Vista 311 S. Chapin 500 block of S. Lafayette 717 Kentucky Litter, mattress Litter, piles of cement Boxes, garbage Garbage Garbage Junk, garbage Barrel'in parkway It was noted that the property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved. APPROVAL OF CONTRACTOR BOND RAY BOCKAJ The Board received the Contractor Bond of Ray Bockaj. A recommenda- tion from Ray S. Andrysiak was received for approval of the bond. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the bond was approved. APPROVAL OF HANDICAPPED .PARKING PERMITS The Board received the following applications for handicapped parking permits: 1. James M. Lovejoy 524 S. Jackson South Bend, Indiana 2. Patricia T. Molnar (2 permits) 303 W. Angela South Bend, Indiana A doctor's certificate was attached to each application. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the requests were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance.
