REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 5, 1980 <br />APPROVE CLOSING OF ALLEY - ST. STEPHEN'S °HISPANIC USHER'S CLUB <br />A request from the St. Stephen's Hispanic Usher's Club was received <br />for the closing of the alley behind the homes on the east side of <br />400 South Walnut for their annual Mother's Day celebration <br />activities at Pulaski Park on May 11, 1980. _ It was noted that <br />Park Department approval had been granted for use of the park for <br />the festivities. A recommendation approving the closing of the <br />alley was received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request to close the alley for the celebration was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended approval of the following traffic control <br />device <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN- On Bowman at Leer. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the traffic control device was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP OF LOTS <br />A request from the Environmental /Action Center was received for <br />permission to have city environmental crews clean the following <br />lots within the city: <br />326 S. Dundee <br />210 N. Brookfield <br />2502 . Pola.nd <br />3806 Belle Vista <br />311 S. Chapin <br />500 block of S. Lafayette <br />717 Kentucky <br />Litter, mattress <br />Litter, piles of cement <br />Boxes, garbage <br />Garbage <br />Garbage <br />Junk, garbage <br />Barrel'in parkway <br />It was noted that the property owners had been advised to clean <br />up the lots and had failed to comply. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACTOR BOND RAY BOCKAJ <br />The Board received the Contractor Bond of Ray Bockaj. A recommenda- <br />tion from Ray S. Andrysiak was received for approval of the bond. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the bond was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF HANDICAPPED .PARKING PERMITS <br />The Board received the following applications for handicapped parking <br />permits: <br />1. James M. Lovejoy <br />524 S. Jackson <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />2. Patricia T. Molnar (2 permits) <br />303 W. Angela <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />A doctor's certificate was attached to each application. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the <br />requests were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />Office for issuance. <br />
