Wayne <br />APRIL 7, 1980 <br />- litter, furniture <br />- trash, litter <br />- dead trees <br />- litter, garbage <br />- demolition remains <br />- steel beams, tubing, <br />- furniture, garbage, <br />- litter, garbage <br />39 � <br />grates, etc. <br />more receptacles <br />Mr. Hill stated that, in order to comply technically with the <br />ordinance on the abatement of nuisances, formal approval of the <br />Board was needed on future clean -up of lots. He stated that this <br />would give the public an opportunity to see what lots are being <br />cleaned and more importantly enabled the city to bill the property <br />owner for the work done and collect the same. He explained that, <br />when a complaint is received, an inspector notifies the property <br />owner, giving him at least 48 hours to remedy the situation. If <br />that is not done, the crews are dispatched and the property owner <br />is billed. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />The following recommendations for traffic control devices were <br />received by the Board from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />Revise to 1 hour limit - 300 South Lafayette, west side, <br />south z block <br />Install stop sign - Rosetta Place at Bendix Drive <br />Remove 30 minute parking - 1106 East Indiana <br />It was noted that the request for the 1 hour limit in the 300 block <br />of South Lafayette was recommended at the request of Schillings. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the recommendations were approved. <br />SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET - LAUREL WOODS, SECTION 3 <br />A title sheet was submitted for signature by the Board for Section <br />3, Laurel Woods Development. Mr. Kernan advised that the Engineering <br />Department had reviewed the plans and specifications for sewer and <br />water construction, and, upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the title sheet was approved and signed. <br />REQUEST FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT <br />An application for handicapped parking permits was received for Mr. <br />H. M. Krueger, 2892 Jamestown Court, Mishawaka. An explanation by <br />Mr. Krueger's daughter for the need of the permit was attached; <br />however, the ordinance required a doctor's certificate before <br />issuance of the permit. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was tabled and the Clerk was <br />instructed to advise Mr. Krueger that a doctor's certificate was <br />required prior to Board approval and issuance by the Controller's <br />Office. <br />APPROVAL OF CETA SUBGRANT AND MODIFICATION <br />A Subgrant between Memorial Hospital and the Bureau of Employment <br />and Training was received for the eriod of April 1, 1980, to <br />August 15, 1980, in the amount of 18,000, Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,the subgrant was approved. <br />A third modification to the contract with the American Heart. <br />Association was requested for approval which provided an additional <br />$300 to the budget cost for contract administration. It was noted <br />that all other parts of the initial agreement and previous modifica- <br />tions remained unchanged. Upon a motion made by Mr.. Kernan, seconded <br />
