rile <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 24, 1980 <br />1400 Hampshire (3 lights) 7000L MV UG CP $24.30 /month <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted to the Board the following recommendations <br />for traffic control: <br />Installation of no angle parking at 200 West South <br />Street, north side, west 2 block <br />Installation of 15- minute parking limit between <br />6 a.m. and 6 p.m., except Sunday at 200 West South <br />Street, north side, west 2 block <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved. <br />APPROVE MARCH OF DI14ES WALKATHON <br />A recommendation from Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, was received by the Board concerning <br />the March of Dimes Walkathon on April 12, 1980, commencing at <br />9:00 a.m. from Potawatomi Park. Since the participants of the <br />walkathon will be obeying all traffic laws, the Bureau recommended <br />approval with instructions that arrangements be completed with <br />Captain Sweitzer and Civil Defense Director Don Germann during <br />the week of March 24th. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY BIKE- A -THON <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted his recommendation to the Board concerning <br />the request of the American Cancer Society for Bike -a -thon to <br />be held on Sunday, April 27, 1980, commencing at 1:30 p.m. at <br />Howard Park (with a rain date of Sunday, May 4). The route to <br />be followed will be the east bike route as marked by the Park <br />Department. Since the riders will be obeying all traffic laws, <br />the Bureau recommended approval with instructions that arrangements <br />be completed with Captain Sweitzer and Civil Defense Director Don <br />Germann no later than the week of March 31, 1980. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE HOPE CHAPEL CHURCH OF GOD PARADE <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, submitted his recommendation to the Board concerning <br />the request of the Hope Chapel Church of God for an annual vacation <br />bible school parade to be held on Saturday, June 7, 1980, at 1:00 'p.m. <br />following a route through the neighborhood bounded by Indiana <br />Avenue, Vernon, Ewing and Marine Street. The route is basically <br />the same as approved in previous years; however, a section of the <br />route which goes over Indiana Avenue, Marine, Haney and back to <br />Leer will be at the discretion of the escort officer, depending <br />upon traffic at the Leer Street railroad crossing. Subject to <br />this provision, the Bureau recommended approval of the request. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />
