Emerging Technologies Center Indiana University Indianapolis, IN
_ter
_1
_r
Converting a warehouse to a life -
science friendly environment
Renovating an existing office /warehouse
facility to provide lease space to start -up life
science businesses involved creative and
integrated architecture, engineering and
interior design solutions. The office portion
of the existing facility, approximately 15,000
SF total on two levels, was renovated
to accommodate office and conference
room spaces. The warehouse portion,
approximately 24,000 SF, underwent major
renovation for laboratories, lab support and
office spaces.
A second level was added within the
existing warehouse with the structure for
the new level extending up through the
existing roof to support a new mechanical
platform. New windows were added to the
warehouse exterior to add natural light. The
east fagade of the building is clad in the a
metal panel system with an intent to cover
the numerous openings left by the removal
of several loading dock doors. Two loading
dock doors remain for the building tenants
to use.
r
YI
r
M
1 M-
a.
a
r m
