RM REGULAR MEETING MARCH 3, 1980 Items Nos. 17, 18 and 19, Concrete Class A- Stone, Class A -Slag and Class B Recommend the respective bids of Kuert Concrete at $45.30 per cubic yard, $44.80 per cubic yard, and $40.80 per cubic yard. Item No. 20, Portland Cement Recommend the bid of Eckler -Lahey at $4.11 per bag. Mr. McMahon noted that a comparison with 1979 prices and quantities showed an increase as follows: Paving and Resurfacing - up 30 per cent Slurry Seal - up 21 per cent Concrete Repairs - up 18 per cent Alley Maintenance - up 47 per cent Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were awarded as recommended. RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS The Board received a request from Mikki Dobski, River Bend Plaza, for permission to hold certai the Plaza on March 17, 1980, St. Patrick's Day, to 1:00 p.m. Selected dignitaries will deliver proclamations commorating St. Patrick's Day, in musical presentation. Coordinator for z activities on from 12:00 noon speeches and addition to a A request was also received for celebration of Dyngus Day on the Plaza on April 7, 1980, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., which involves a performance by a polka band during the lunch hour. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the requests for permission to conduct the above activities on River Bend Plaza were approved. The Board also received a request for a Fourth of July 5 -mile race to be held in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival. Additional requirements were requested, including documentation of medical back -up, outdoor restroom facilities and an accounting of funds raised by the event. A request was also made for permission to use the Century Center parking lot for the race, which is being sponsored by the All -State Athletic Store. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Traffic Division of the Police Department, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Century Center Board of Managers. A third request was received by the Doard for permission by the United States Air Force to display an F -15 Fighter Aircraft during the Ethnic Festival from June 25, 1980, through July 6, 1980, at a location to be designated by the city. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Traffic Division of the Police Department and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting.
