RM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 3, 1980 <br />Items Nos. 17, 18 and 19, Concrete Class A- Stone, Class <br />A -Slag and Class B <br />Recommend the respective bids of Kuert Concrete at <br />$45.30 per cubic yard, $44.80 per cubic yard, and <br />$40.80 per cubic yard. <br />Item No. 20, Portland Cement <br />Recommend the bid of Eckler -Lahey at $4.11 per bag. <br />Mr. McMahon noted that a comparison with 1979 prices and quantities <br />showed an increase as follows: <br />Paving and Resurfacing <br />- up <br />30 <br />per <br />cent <br />Slurry Seal <br />- up <br />21 <br />per <br />cent <br />Concrete Repairs <br />- up <br />18 <br />per <br />cent <br />Alley Maintenance <br />- up <br />47 <br />per <br />cent <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above bids were awarded as recommended. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUESTS <br />The Board received a request from Mikki Dobski, <br />River Bend Plaza, for permission to hold certai <br />the Plaza on March 17, 1980, St. Patrick's Day, <br />to 1:00 p.m. Selected dignitaries will deliver <br />proclamations commorating St. Patrick's Day, in <br />musical presentation. <br />Coordinator for <br />z activities on <br />from 12:00 noon <br />speeches and <br />addition to a <br />A request was also received for celebration of Dyngus Day on <br />the Plaza on April 7, 1980, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., which <br />involves a performance by a polka band during the lunch hour. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the requests for permission to conduct the above activities <br />on River Bend Plaza were approved. <br />The Board also received a request for a Fourth of July 5 -mile race <br />to be held in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival. Additional <br />requirements were requested, including documentation of medical <br />back -up, outdoor restroom facilities and an accounting of funds <br />raised by the event. A request was also made for permission to <br />use the Century Center parking lot for the race, which is being <br />sponsored by the All -State Athletic Store. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />referred to the Traffic Division of the Police Department, the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Century Center Board of <br />Managers. <br />A third request was received by the Doard for permission by the <br />United States Air Force to display an F -15 Fighter Aircraft during <br />the Ethnic Festival from June 25, 1980, through July 6, 1980, at <br />a location to be designated by the city. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred <br />to the Traffic Division of the Police Department and the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting. <br />
